birthday party for a 10 year old

hi , my daughter is turning ten and we have been trying to come up with a theme for her party. She wants something spectacular....anyways we have thought about the whole glamour party with doing the makeup and hair but we need much more than that.Other than that she likes harry potter and scrapbooking. So if anyone has any good ideas please send them my way..( for themes, games and decorations)

thankyou to everyone for the great ideas for my daughters party which will actually take place on the 13th. so far she has decided for the mini pizzas and loves the harry potter ideas but unfortunately her friends don't share the same love for him as she does so i told her we can do a party with her harry potter friends seperately...lol...so it looks like makeup(if the parents are ok with it) and games and she wants it to be wacky hair day party what ever that is....lol..so i guess i'll just go with the flow and steal little ideas from you all ...once again thanx for all the great ideas..

I would get together some dress ups and make-up let all the girls dress up and do skits for each other. take pictures of each girl in their favorite costume and then let them make a scrap book page to put the picture on and take home.

Another fun thing to do is make cupcakes or sugar cookies and let the girls frost and decorate them with a variety of frosting colors and sprinkles and such.

For decorations, you could put up some streamers and crepe paper (in her favorite colors). And randomly place tiaras throughout the house as decorations (hanging from streamers, on top of lamps, as center pieces for tables, etc.)

You could do a magical scavenger hunt with Harry Potter items or whatever other items you find fit.

E-mail me if you want more ideas or if these ones confuse you and you need clarificaiton. Sometimes my brain works faster than my fingers can type so I hope this all makes sense. Good luck!

she is my kind of girl Harry potter fan i lovveeee him (or the book should I say) I read them 5 times each. how about a Yule ball (she will know what I mean) it would include boys and girls they can dance, get some frames and a digitel cammera and take a picture of every child with the champion (the birthday girl) and they can decorate the photo and the frame. they can have some harry potter food.

For my daughters' party, I made earrings with the girls.  I picked up the fixings and beads for under $10 at GoLo and they had a ball making their own designs which they then either got to wear or take home.

Since I also am into scrapbooking, I got out some spare pages, all the doodads I had heaps of (papers, embellishments, etc) and got them to decorate a page each and all they had to do later was add photos.

One party, I got plastic christmas balls and they made balls with their names on which they took home.  Another time, it was pizza party where they all made their own minipizzas.

Maybe you could find a kit for making your own lipgloss and eyeshadow...ooo, now I wanna try that one!  Good luck with your idea hunt - think outside the square and you'll amaze yourself!

Why not have a witching party.......They all come dressed as witches of course or witchy things You could have witch broom limbo, pass the cauldron-camp oven or the like passed around to music have it filled with treats that they have to remove with their mouth LOL should last for ever......Pin the wand on the witch.Spells and whispers-sit them in a circle and the first starts a spell whispers it to the next  they add to it keep going till last witch, she has to repeat the spell and you see how different it is from the original spell.Magic goblet race-have a tray of jelly beans up one end, decorated goblets(plastic  disposable wine glasses they have done themselves)down the other each girl has to run to their goblet and up to the jellybeans pick up as many with their mouth as they can they run back to the start and the witch with the most jelly beans wins.I could go on for hours so I'll stop.Hope this has helped regards Merle

WANT TO RENT: ONE ten year old girl for birthday party
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that idea.......so cool.....Hmmm, can I borrow/rent a 10 year old off of someone please....I have kinda run out of them and wanna host a party like this....Please!!

Hmmm, I can just see it now though.....HEADLINE....woman rents other womans 10 year old child - ends in choking incident.....more on page 10...

guess we could change the jellybeans from placing them in the mouth to having them do it with a spoon in their mouth.....'cause knowing me, I'd give a 'good on ya, well done' slap on the back and the kid would choke...yup, tis the way to go for me....

so, back to the renting a 10 year old....any takers???
