Paracetomol is safe.  Definately no aspirin or products containing ibuprofen.

hi Marlena, there is no medicine to take for a cold or almost anything else in that matter, the best thing to do is keep up with your vitamins and hope you dont catch another one, Panadol tablets are the only thing you can take if your cold is giving you pain and discomfort, and stay away from anything with ibuprofen like Advil, its not good for pregnant women.

All I do is eat extra oranges.  Same with my daughter, if she has a cold I feed her oranges. It's gone in a couple of days.  Colds don't need medications to clear them up anyway. Vitamin C (citrus fruits, blackcurrants, etc) and plenty of clear fluids and rest is what gets rid of it.  Hope you feel better soon.

ive only ever had Paracetamol that i knew was safe over the counter meds.. other than that i went to the docs they do have someother things you can take although its not much , but if you go talk to your local gp they might give you something else as meds do change . better to be safe and talk to them

the good old lemmon and honey that still works to sooth the throat

I had a cold the first trimester too, it's not fun I know. What you are allowed to take is cough syurp, you can use the cheap brand(that's what I used when I was pregnant) only use it if your cough is real bad. As for stuffed up nose, there really isn't much you can do about that. Saline Spray(salt and water) you can use. And nothing with a decongestant as it makes your heart race and it pumps alot of blood so that's not good.
You can use vitamin C vicks drops, those are the only ones you are allowed to use. (i've used all of these and they work to what it can do)

It may take a while longer for it to go away but at least youu aren't harming your baby. Good luck Marlena and I hope it goes away soon.

In austalia it is panadol brand paracetamol (sp?).Other brands have things in them. If in the last trimester you might be able to risk something else but would have to see your doctor.
