I am just after opinions here, not judgement.
I feed my girl 4 small meals a day, and a big one at night.
She had a banana for lunch, but i was just wondering if that is enough! She is 20 months old. She never seems hungry after each meal, and she is still having a morning and night time bottle, plus about 750 ml + of water a way..... am i giving her enough or do i need to give her more?
All opinions, and advice would be greatly appreciated!
your little one sounds healthy and happy you are doing a great job mummy ,, every childs differnt , some days they eat more others less and they change their taste as they get older all trial and error ...
As others have mentioned, each toddler is different. I feed my 18 month old son 3 meals and 2-3 small snacks a day. He eats breakfast, maybe a waffle or toast. Then at about 9:30 a.m. he has a snack, like some crackers or pretzel sticks. At 11 a.m. he eats lunch. He gets a meat, vegetable, fruit, and maybe one more side. He has a snack after his nap. Dinner is at 5:30 and sometimes a snack before bed...but not always. Hope that helps.
This is such a tough question because only you know your toddler. My toddler seems to be a big eater every three days. I try to give him eggs for breakfast every day but lots of days I'll offer him a healthy lunch and he is just not interested. Either that or he will just have a few bites and then be done. One thing I have noticed is that I worry a lot less if he eats at least one good meal a day. Also, I tried to offer him "snacks" in between meals and he will turn them down if he is not hungry. I make sure that the snacks are always healthy (high fiber crackers or a piece of fruit). If you are worried about her health, you can always talk to her doctor about it. My doctor recommended having my son take a toddler multivitamin every other day if I was worried that he wasn't getting enough iron. This helped us. Hope it helps you too.
Thanks heaps. Emily loves her fruit and some of her veg, but is not at all keen on meat!
I try to provide as much variety as i can for her to keep her interested in her meals!
my opioion is if you feel that she is getting enough, and she is healthy, there shouldnt be any worries.. My suggestion is to go and speak to a clinic sister/or your GP if you have any health concerns for your little one..Also i love how you put in that she drinks that amount of water, good on you, as there aint many kids that would do that..Hope that helps you a bit..
It was hard getting her to drink it at first, but once she realised that water was all she was getting then she was soon satisfied. She sometimes has orange juice or apple juice, even pineapple juice....just as a bit of variety and cos its healthy!
I reckon if she is of a normal weight for age and does not want more then what you are doing is fine.As you probably know it is important to make sure they get a variety of different foods. If you are still concerned talk to child health nurse.regards Merle
feed her as much as she wants if she is happy with that amount and isnt wanting more then that is ok, I am sure she would be able to let you know if she is hungrey or not .
