Dizzy spells

I am about 25 weeks preggers now and I have noticed that while I am at work I am having dizzy spells. I am on my feet a lot - I guess thats why I notice it more at work. It just feels like the ground is moving on me...most bizarre. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this and do you know what causes it. it doesnt last long and as long as I hang onto something it soon passes.

I had that all through the pregnancy and for a few months after.  It was because I was so sick with morning sickness (morning sickness, yeah right, 24/7-sickness!) that I lost weight throughout the pregnancy and was induced early because of that weight loss.  I wasn't sick after the baby was born of course, but I was breastfeeding very often and not putting the weight back on and found it difficult to eat a lot of food.  It took the better part of the first 6 months to start feeling better, although it took longer to regain the weight.  Have you had morning sickness at all? Or it could be you're not drinking enough water. I know I get like that on occasion now if we're out in the sun and I'm lacking fluids.

I got this a lot when I was pregnant and I wasn't anaemic at all (confirmed by blood test).  It can be any number of causes.  Low blood pressure is a very common one during pregnancy.  Also low blood sugar - not eating enough or often enough to compensate for how much growing a baby is taking out of you.  Anaemia could be a cause and most doctors these days seem to recommend taking a folic/iron supplement (like Fefol) during your whole pregnancy to combat it.

Don't worry - you're normal.  If it's bothering you or interfering with your work, talk to your doctor about it.  Good luck!

Sounds a lot like anaemia to me.  You need to make sure you are taking an iron supplement when you're pregnant particularly in the later part of the pregnancy.  Try to take a liquid supplement because iron supplements can be constipating.  If constipation is a problem then take psyllium husk in a drink like Metamucil or something like that but DEFINATELY take the iron.  It doesn't matter how much iron you think you're getting in your diet, pregnant women in the last part of their pregnancy often experience anaemia.  It will take about three days for it to work. After this if you're still having problems you may want to visit your Doctor.

It happened to me with all of my pregnancy's. It was caused by not enough iron. Don't get me wrong I ate meat for breakfast, lunch and tea but it just wasn't enough. The baby's was taking the whole lot. I would ask you doctor cause the last thing you'd want is to pass out while your pregnant. Good luck. Hope your felling bettter soon.

yes i was serverly iron deficent whilst pregnant with my second child the doctors ran some tests after i told them about it and found that i had an iron level of 65, i technically should not have been standing let alone chasing my three year old round the waiting room...cheeky boy lol... but my body had gotten mostly used to it... so i only experienced the dizzy spells... i had to have an iron infusion which means they basically had to hook me up to a iv for seven hours... i hate sitting still...lol but you should tell your doc about it and then they can run some tests... if it is the iron levels don't worry about your bub though because they will be using all your iron and you are the only one who will be suffering bummer but not as bad as it sounds k... :)

I had this with all my pregnancies mine was due to lack of iron and apparently blood pressure. Also sometimes I had enough iron but my body didn't break it down quick enough. You should go and see your doctor as you don't want to end up fainting because it happens at the darndest times and you are a bit disoreintated after and it is scary.

GO TO THE DOCTOR take care and let us know what it is for you.
