Traditions may differ in other countries, but in the U.S., baby showers are tradionally only held for the first baby. Sometimes if the 2nd born is a different sex, then it may be acceptable to have another baby shower. But like I said, this is the tradional way of doing things.
However, that said... many people are also having showers for each and every baby.
You get one for every baby. I know plenty of moms who had one for each child. Especially if they are a few years apart or if you have a boy and a girl, you will need new clothes.
I think its up to you and whoever wants to do it for you ,,just let your friends know also
i had just one and i lost my first child( girl) then i had twins ( boys ) i wish someone could of done me one for them as all i had was girls clothes ...
I didn't have a shower for my first, but i did for my second. I had my kids 10 years apart though and i had nothing left from my first so it might depend on how long its been since you had the first baby. If you need stuff maybe you could mention this to a friend or just drop little hints around. These days i don't think it matters if you already had one, it might just depend on how much of a need there is.
im prego' with number 2 and i didnt get any baby shower.
i would of loved it, its somethink that you would remember for ever,
i agree you are very lucky if you do get one.
I have had 3 children, and I never received a baby shower for any of them, so if you get one, you are lucky, if you get more than one, you are extremely lucky.
The sad news is that you only get the showers for the first one. Sometimes if you have a different sex child the next time around a friend may throw you a shower, but it isn't the norm. Poor second borns. LOL.
