my question is: is it normal for my 23 old month baby girl to not have that much hair? her hair is really thin and curly. and it doesn't grow that much since birth. is that ok?
It's absolutely normal. My daughter never had much hair and people thought she was a boy. At the age of 2 she had enough hair so that if i used about 8 of those little tiny hair ties I was able to put her hair up for the first time for her birthday. Now at 3 her hair is short but long enough to tie up in a pony tail or do what I want with it. She took her hair ties out once at daycare and the daycare staff did it in 2 braids which looked beautiful, but hair grows at different rates. I know working in childcare I'd see all these littlies coming in with their hair done beautifully and I was jealous as I wasn't able to do anything with my almost-bald baby. I would do the girls hair after rest time and wonder when I would ever do my daughter's hair. I do it each morning before daycare now, sometimes I do it after daycare too if we're going somewhere, since I finish at 3:30 we have time to visit friends, go for coffee, or go to the park after daycare. Have patience, it will grow in time.
I wouldn't worry too much. My oldest son was 3 years old before I even had to think about trimming his hair. I never shaved it as I know others have done, but just left it be. He now has beautiful thick hair.....mmmmmm lots thicker than mine . Plus it's amazing how fast his hair grows.
Iesha was born with a head full of hair and had her first hair cut at 3 months. It's not as great as it seems. We had a lot of trouble as she got older with washing and brushing her hair. She hated it. So it might well be a blessing but i think it is normal. Julius has very little hair and very fine. He is only 6 months so who knows if he will grow any. Like most things with kids, all in their own time.
Michaela and Nikita had little hair and Michaela went to school with a small amount too she was grade 2 before i could put it up....Nikita has just had her first hair cut and she is 4 in may so I think it is normal........Cheers

If it isn't normal, then I guess we have the same problem. LOL. My son is almost two and his hair is so blond that you can practically see through it. It just started coming in a little more so we are hoping that he'll be able to stay warm for the rest of winter. Good luck with your baby.
I think that each of us have our own time on the hair line , my girl ws nearly 5 before she had any hair to speak of and the same for her eldest daughter, and her grand daughter was slow at getting her hair too. i wouldn't worry too much about it if i were you... it is normal for her... just to let you know misquadis...
All little ones are different my little man is 20 months and only started getting his hair recently because we got rid of his cradle cap (finally) and we shaved his head.
Don't worry too much,It can take ages for some toddlers to grow a head of hair.Soon you'll be having to cut it so often you'll wish you hadn't wanted it to grow LOL have a lovely day regards Merle
my 23 month old has not that much hair, and it is curly in the back. It is very thin to, you can see in the picture. I see babies with a lot more hair then my daughter. When my oldest was younger same thing, her hair was thin and not much, when she got to be about 3 i shaved her head and wow when her grew back in it was so nice and thick, now she has such nice hair better then any of us. I am going to shave my 23 month olds hair as well bcause it seamed to work for my older one she is 15 now. So i dont no if this helps but, maybe try it to.
