well I've just spent 2 days cleaning every nook and cranny on my car, I'm going to get a new one next week or so, i want more room, 7 seats, but i still don't know what i want. we don't want to spend more than $40,000. i want plenty of room in the front and back and still be able to put a pram and things in the back with the extra seats. I don't like people movers. what do you guys drive and recommend? hubby's no help, I have chosen the last 2 cars he said as long as it gets him fishing he doesn't care lol. I don't buy brand new cars either, a couple of years old is what look for. salesmen are no help, they just want to sell the car.
I wish you had mentioned what your current car is. I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Van and it's been great. Tons of space. In fact, you can fold all seats down in back to make it completely flat like a truck. Very helpful when needing to move something, etc. I never thought that I would drive a van, but I love it. It's sleek and sophisticated and has all the bells and whistles. There are so many great ones to choose from these days and so many features. Check out this site for more info:
Toyota Prados are nice looking cars. I only have one child and a big car would only be a drain on me financially. But I had my cousin's 3 children as well as my child and an extra child who was left with me for 2 weeks when she and my daughter had just turned 2. My cousin owned a Prado and when they went away and left the children with me, I wouldn't have coped without using the Prado. I had to fit in 2 baby seats for the toddlers, a booster seat for my cousin's 6 year old, and her daughters were older and always used to fight over the front seat as whoever didn't sit in the front had to sit behind the babies! There was enough room in the back for the twin pram I had borrowed from a friend who had 3 children under 3, it also had enough room to fit in all their school/daycare bags without being cramped in.
We have a 2001 Volvo V70. It's a 5 seater, but has 2 pull down seats (with seatbelts) in the back. It's got heaps of room, leather seats, sunroof etc, etc.
ooh i just had an idea! how do you feel about 4 wheel drives? we have a 7 seater nissan patrol as well as the falcon, and its quite roomy inside, however we usually put the pram on one of the seats at the back coz the boot aint all that big.
Tarago are good, very roomy cheap parts. Delicas great car, expensive parts as is import car. Oddosey, very squishy. Pajero. Escape. There is heaps to chose from. Look at carsguide.com.au or carsales.com.au. Happy car shopping.
We own a Mitsubishi Delicia 8 seater van. but im warning you against this car, lol. The amount of trouble we have had with this car is unbelievable. Its so hard to get parts for it, no mechanic apart from a Mitsubishi qualified mechanic will touch it. At the moment our van is sitting in the garage without a motor!!!!!
Im driving what MonyQ is driving and i like fords!!!!! lol, but the problem is hardly any boot space.
I personally dont like the 4WD's that have 2 seats coming out from the sides at the rear end, i dont see it as very safe.
You can get small people movers, the Kia Carnival is a good one but again i dont think there would be much boot space.
Good luck in finding a car that suits your needs xx
Thanks, I'm driving A ford too, an explorer, but, if we where to put the extra seats in there would be no room for prams etc. does anyone know anything personally about the ford territory?
MONY YOU TRAITOR !!!! NOT A FORD AARRGGGHHHH Can you tell what car I love hmmm can ya can ya huh huh.Sorry Mandy MUM I am happy as long as it goes and I can go fishing too LOL
