Very sad and depressed

My friend who I talk to a lot has now become a minti addict
We used to talk on the phone a lot but now all she can talk about is minti.
I am getting to where I don't think I should ring her no more because she loves minti more than me
She used to be fun before she became a Minti addict
Every time we talk now it is all about Minti
Even when we talk on msn messenger it is only about Minti
I am starting to hate Minti
My question is should I become a Minti addict like her or try to take her away from Minti?

Hi
Thanks for the fantastic suggestions
Sorry guys this was supposed to be a fun dig at someone......
I thought everyone would say join her as a minti adict lol

We are both as bad as each other.......we talk on the phone while on Minti
We talk on messenger while on Minti
We discuss Minti articles when i visit.....
Lol Minti  has taken over our lives
We were on the phone this morning talking about the latest articles and i thought it would have been fun to see what other people thought but everyone took it too literally
My hubby reckons we spend too much time on it

All i really wanted everyone to read was the last bit where the question is
and say join her.....
Luv Deb

i not think you lost a friend  , i think thats she happy getting advice and mading new friends .Sometime getting advice or giving it out helps the person  feel more needed .We all know  that getting a opinoin out side  our cricle of friends can help you see things in a driffrent light.

So hang in there  and be her ture friend

I think that she may just feel that their has being a weight lifted off her by joining minti, and thats why she feels the need to chat about it to you, and it cant be all that bad as you are here asking for our advise...Maybe you need to have a chat to her and say that you understand how minti is a good site for her, but could you both chat about something else sometimes...Also i know personally how much for myself how i have made friends on here and we msn as well, so i hope im not driving them crazy when i ask them advise away from minti etc....I hope you can overcome this, and you and your friend enjoy this site, as much as we all do...

May be Minti is giving her self esteem and confidence a well needed boost,I know it has for me.I would just hang in there as TRUE friends never desert and never leave when the going gets tough.Minti does get you hooked and I too have had to seriously cut back(notice my back sliding rankings LOL) I think she will realize in the end she has to find a balance why not help her and go out on girly days where there is no computer access LOL.I wouldnt worry too much may be she just needs some space.Regards Merle

Are you my husband in disguise??

Really My partner say's the same to me all the time since I found minti. I am starting to feel very bad I spend so much time on the computer. I hated computers before I joined minti. I'm trying to cut down the time I spend on it. Maybe you should talk to your friend about doing the same. After all there is a real world out there still, isn't there? LOL

how long has this been going on for?
i was a real MINTI ADDICT at one stage, but it did wear off, we all need our lives away from the computer, i have limited myself to going on the net after certain things are done around the house.
maybe if your friend is reading q&a she may come across this and realise she may be losing something very valuable, a friendship.

xx channy

Although new to Minty I was addicted to another parenting site. It got to the point that I wouldn't go out in case I missed out on something and I would ignore the kids crying etc. My partner used to practically beg me not to go on the computer at night and I would just abuse him.

I gave myself a break from the computer for 2 weeks and found that when I got back on it had lost it's hold on me.

Suggest that she has a Minti free week and plan some together time, turn up to her house and say "You're coming with me" and she will soon realize that your friendship is more worthwhile.

You sound like a great caring friend. Goodluck
