You can try drinking URAL. It helps dilute the urine and reduces the stinging sensation, also take cranberry tablets at the first signs of any stinging they also help to stop the infection from taking hold. These are available over the counter at the chemist.

It sound like you have an infection........please go see the doctor as if you ignore this it will go into the kidneys and then you will have more problems.

EMBRARRACING QUESTION

Oh god I just went to the Dr for this same reason. My first UTI ever. The Dr did give me the choice of trying alternatives to antibiotics. Lots and lots of cranberry juice or taking lots of cranberry tablets. The juice is cheaper but tastes like EWWWWW. I opted for the anitbiotics I just have to eat some yoghurt daily (which I hate) as they are strong antibiotics and you can get thrush which is just as painful if not more so then a UTI.

Drink lots and lots and lots of water and get those antibiotics and thigns should be fine. (so my Dr just told me). Avoid baths especially with oils or bath salts (shower instead) avoid tampons when you can and pee after you have sex (I know TMI- but it flushes any bad things out of yout urethra that can get in there when you do the deed)

Hope you feel better soon

EMBRARRACING QUESTION
Yep that's what it is & if you leave it too much longer you will pass blood clots & your bladder will shrink & you'll have to pee very often (like when you're in 3rd trimester pregnant).I know becaues I ignored one when I was 20 & 15 years latter I still have to pee hourly (2 hourly at night if I'm lucky)

Antibiotics is the only thing that fixes.....get to the Doctor NOW.

EMBRARRACING QUESTION
exactly what wendigo said, i used to get it alot, and even more when i was pregnant, because i 'held it in' all the time, thats just one of the causes of this infection, a course of antibiotics can help clear it up, and when you need to go.....go, don't go holding it in or you'll get the infection again.

xx channy

EMBRARRACING QUESTION

It's probably a UTI (urinary tract infection).  A course of anti-biotics should fix it up quickly, but get to a doctor very soon, or that slightly painful discomfort will get progressively worse, and it will eventually feel like you're peeing out volcanic molten lava!

As embarassing as it is, it is a fairly common little infection to get, just not many people like to talk about it.  A common cause is simply contact with a piece of toilet paper or sanitary pad that has been contaminated with some nasty little bacteria.  Three very important hints regarding UTI's:

  1. don't leave the toilet roll on the floor - I've noticed heaps of people do that and it's a very bad little habit to get into.
  2. wipe ya butt from front to back.  Your urinary tract is relatively clean from bacteria, however, ya bum is full of it.  If you wipe from back to front, you risk spreading that bacteria to your urinary tract, causing uti's.
  3. drink plently of fluid: preferably water, not alcohol.  As uncomfortable as it can get to pee when you have a uti, you need to keep "flushing out the pipes" to help get rid of the infection.
