For the mother before who posted regarding the ad about the baby driving the 4WD and picking up the baby hitch-hiker, complaints have made the news:

Children also love copying their parents.  I have put my keys in the car and drive everyday.  I don't understand it could be considered that child would be more likely to feel the need to copy from a television ad more than they would want to copy their parents.

I don't not drive just because my children may copy me and get behind the wheel of the car.

No matter how hard I try I can not get my son to copy me BUT he will copy his friend adam who is his age. My son would go to the door and point towards the car every time this add is on. I think it is irresponsible advertising and I am very glad it is gone. My husband agrees with me and so does every responsible person I know.  My kids would never get in my car by themselves but I still feel that they do not need stupid ideas put into their heads by a stupid car company trying to add to their millions.

kids copy what other kids do. And thats a fact thats why we send them to playgroups, school, sport whatever when they have problems to play and learn of each other. When I teach my son than no cou cant play with the knife because only mamyes and daddyes can use a knife that is fine but when a kid does it I cant say whem only mommy and daddy and that kid on tv can do it.

As far as I know Australia is a democratic country and I have any right to complain about it and I did. Where I put my keys is not the point, what time it is not is not the point. As cute as it is too many kids die or are injured because they copy things of tv. And we cant always control what is on tv when we live the room for a minute. And try and explain those things to a 3 year old with suspected autism.

i personally liked the add, i only saw it twice and that was late at night, they are on when its supposed to be childrens bedtimes....
there are far more worse adds on tv that are exposed to children during the DAY!
like the hahn add with the boobs! I guess someone will start complaining when their kids start drawing boobs in the sand everywhere...

I'm one of those people that are of the opinion that if you don't like something on tv, you should simply turn it off.

I personally, didn't see anything wrong with the advert. There was no violence, no blood, no sexual overtones.

"Many of the complaints were from parents concerned that the ad would encourage copy-cat behaviour in young children and might lead to accidents."

Perhaps those parents should learn how to lock their cars.

Hi
No sexual overtones...gee here he is picking up a chick and taking her for a drive and in the final bit he is parking with his arm around her...if that aint sexual in this day and age i dont know what is lol.......he is parking.......in a deserted place....we all know whats on his mind.......
Think average teenagers of today...hmmm lol
Look at home and away and neighbours........
My thoughts

Personally i thought the add was cute.........albeit he needed to be in a safety restraint lol
Makes the the car look pretty tiny if a bub can sit on the seat and see over the steering wheel and still accelerate
I dont want a car THAT small

I agree with you. I must have had my head stuck in the sand as I didn't realise it was causing controversy. I liked it as well.
