just trying to find a comfertable possition while being pregnent is hard enough .. illd go see you doc about this just to ease your mind about things,,

it could very well be the baby pushing on your nerves on that side,, i got myself a body pillow and threw my leg over it it helped take some of the presure off when i was in bed

I had the same problem on and off for the last 3-4m and was told it was due to the baby presing (or the belly) on a nerve. it went avay once my son was born.

hip numbness - Im the Queen of that!!
Where exactly is the pain??  There is a bone at the very top of your leg (femur) and this is chronic for getting what is called "trachandric bursitis".  I have it on both sides and I had during my pregnancy as well.  Ask your doctor or OB/GYN if this could also be a possibility.  If you have this, it is nothing to worry about.  Sometimes they inject it with cortisone to help reduce the inflammation.  Keep us posted with what the outcome is ok.  Hugs to you.  Ursh

Hi there,  I had this exact pain in my right hip and as the pregnancy progress the pain and numbness increased.  In my birthing class we had 2 physio ladies attend so I mentioned it to them and they said it's because the progesterone has softened your hips and suggested I try sleeping more on my back with a pillow wedged under my left side. Never lie completely flat.  Place pillows inbetween your legs so your legs are straight.  Plus they gave me a tummy support band to help lift the weight off my hips.  Unfortunately I got this information to late in my pregnancy as I only had 5 days to go so I can't tell you the band does work but the sleeping position help.  Maybe mention it to your carer at your next check up.  Good luck

I'm not sure about the numbness, but I was told that while I was pregnant to sleep and lay on my left side, as the blood rush's faster to the baby and everything like that.

I would defiently talk to your doctor about your hip going numb he might be able to give you a better answer. Good luck

Hi Cristlyn

You will most likely find that your hips are out of alignment and there is a nerve pinching but because you are pregnant you will not be able to have any chiropractic treatment to correct the situation but if you can find a BOWEN THERAPIST they will be able to fix your problem with no affect on the baby or alternatively if you know of an energy healer they would be able to help you also.  If I had an up to date photo of you I would be able to do some absent healing on you myself.   Whatever u decide my love you will have to have some sort of treatment otherwise you will find you will have a difficult birth

love and light your angelic friend june

I had chiropractic care starting when I was about 25 weeks pregnant.  It helped a lot to take the pain out of my hips and low back.  I wouldn't totally rule out the idea of seeing a chiropractor and seeing if it helps.
