Stickers/labels

I have it as R. Stanton Avery, who invented the first self-adhesive label back in 1935 and I have it confirmed by about 15 other sites.

In actual fact stamps are also considered as stickers so there could be a little confusion about it.

Here are some of the sites I found my info from as well as from my home 'old fashion' encyclopedia

Unfortunately wikipedia is not classed as a reliable source.

Well the education department does not recognize it as such and because anyone can add to it.

I used to use it but had a LONG LONG LONG LONG explanation as to why they don't like it but the quicker version is that it is not considered reliable....

Cheers

OB

NO THIS PERSON INVENTED STICKERS!!!
Recognized as the woman who invented the first sticker and subsequently pioneered the entire sticker industry, Andrea Grossman founded Mrs. Grossman's Paper Company more than twenty-five years ago with rolls of red heart stickers and launched a specialized crafts industry that has now gained popularity world wide.

she did not invent sticker she invented a new concept. they were invented much earlier than late 70's, my mom was born mid 50's and she has stickers in one of her notebook with poems (and some that were not stuck on) also I have many of my fathers albums with stars and spotr from late 50's and most of the60's and they are with stickers as well.
