Forum's gone too

Okay, I noted a lot of complaints here about the new minti so I went and had a look at my page and have simular problems & I thought well the "propper place" to ask for help with site problems isn't Q&A (used to be parenting probs) but "Forum"....No more forum!!

My articles are showing no ratings just blank starts, some of my pics given to me in lounge are crossed out & unviewable.

I don't like this NEW and (whats the opposite to improved???) Minti.  The only nice thing that has changed is that the intro bars to pages are now thicker with fine diagonal lines...athetically pleasing yes, but not worth the price paid thus far.  Twasn't broken before guy's...why'd ya try to fix it??

Can't we go back to the old minti we were all comfortable with and didn't need to be a computer boffin to understand and navigate.

I'll try again tomorrow.......to dissapoineted today to persist.

Hi Chele. Based on what I've been able to gather about the new Minti, Forums are now considered Groups. I found this out when I checked out my "groups" list and found that I am a part of duplicate groups. When I checked the duplicate groups, I realized that they were Forums. But as far as being in duplicate groups, it is easily fixed now. We now have the option to leave groups on our own.

About pictures that are unviewable - I think this is due to the owner of the pictures marking them as private and not to be displayed in public areas.

Cheers!

Thanks Guy's for addressing my question/comment so promptly.  I have a better understanding now as to why the site needed to be up graded and can appreciate that.  I shall endeavour to be more patient.  It's a bit like having a dear old friend in a hospital with limited visitors and visiting hours available to you, when all you want to do is take them out for coffee & a good yack (as in chat and not throwing up lol).

Thanks again for the heads up.

Hi cheleinkal - I work with the guys at minti on the web site development and whenever a new version of a major site like minti is updated there are always a number of "bugs" that require fixing. I can assure you that the programmers are working on these fixes right now.

One of the main reasons minti was "updated" was to allow for the site to function well at a much bigger scale in the future (you may have noticed we've been growing really fast). The old set-up of minti simply would not have allowed the site to grow much bigger and so it was something we had to address sooner rather than later.

Whilst we were changing the structure we also decided to add some fun new features such as "photos" and decided to remove some of the less popular features such as "forums"  (many people were also confused about "forums" and "groups" and how they appeared to be the same thing).

We feel that once the bugs have been fixed and you've had a little bit of time to familiarise yourself with the site, you will see that most of the "old minti" remains, just with groups taking over the function of forums and the addition of the cool new photos section.

Hope this helps.

The updated version of Minti is still being implemented so please be patient with us while we fix all the technical errors. All errors are being noted and fixed.

The newer version was implemented to change and improve Minti's features.

The Forums have now been changed into groups. All the Forum categories are now Group categories, as far as I am aware of.
