Re: The Imminent Law Of Not Smoking In Your Car With Children Under 18
I am a smoker, and I do smoke in the car sometimes when the kids are in there. It may be the wrong thing to do, but I also know that it releases tension for me, and also helps me stay awake and more alert when driving late at night. Whenever I have smoked in the car, the window is always down, but with the new law, it is probably worse for my kids cause I won't keep the cigarette outside of the window like I used to. I end up setting it down next to me. Most of the parents that smoke in the car also smoke in their houses. I personally don't , but how is smoking in the car going to decrease the amount of smoke the kids breath, when it is still legal to smoke in your house. When I have other children in the car, I never smoke, and I never smoke around others that don't, but for me, the only time I do smoke is in the car. People always say to just quit, but I don't think non-smokers really understand what a difficult thing that can be. Yes, I can go for several weeks at a time without smoking, but I'm not ready to quit. Maybe it's just being defiant when someone tells you to stop, but for me, someone telling me no, just makes me want to continue.
