louses... I assume you mean lice?
Prevention for lice is included here - along with many other annoying creatures. Cure for lice is included here - no harsh and expensive chemicals necessary, and again, also covers all the other annoying creatures.  Hope it helps.

Hi I was told that tea tree oil will get rid of them. Also my hairdresser recommended only washing my son's hair once a week on friday, apparently lice prefer clean hair. The oil in dirty hair means the lice can't grab on. Also the tea tree oil is a good preventative as the lice don't like the smell. Hope this helps.

Hi there, wrote an article on this a while ago as I was working at an evil job that were useless at getting rid of headlice, I then ended up bringing them home to my 16 month old son at the time.  Hope it helps

CONDITIONER!!! I swear by it, my daughter got infested when she was in kindergarten, and I used the Rid comercial product that comes with the solution and a small nit comb, it did not work, so I saved the comb and thought about how to suffocate them.  So I bought Suave Conditioner, a big family size bottle and a shower cap.  I washed her hair. then towel dried it, put ALOT of conditioner on it, till her hair was dripping it off.  Then bunched her hair up ontop of her head, more conditioner and the shower cap.....I had her sit and watch tv, told her to be very still and I went about washing all of the bedding,  that is very important because they will be wherever your child has been..Put all of the plush toys into a plastic bag and put them up somewhere not to be opened for 2 weeks. If you can wash them even better.  I also threw the ones that could not be washed into the dryer on high, to try to cook the little buggers.  Then after an hour I started combing my daughters hair.  IT IS MESSY.  The conditioner will help pull the bugs out if there are any and after I combed the majority of the conditioner out I had her sit in the bathtub while I did this, and wipe the comb after every swipe onto a dry towel, so that if there are still live bugs you dont put them back on the childs head.  Rinse.  Then sit in bright light, I sat in the livingroom floor with her, where the sun was shining in, it helps to be able to see the nits.  Those I grabbed with my fingernails, and slid all the way down the hair shaft, they slide off easily, but trying to pick them out doesnt work so good.  Once I thought I had em all we washed and conditioned again.  Then went to her school where they have a neat lighted magnifing glass in the nurses office and checked her head again.  I had to do something because the Rid didnt work and irritated her scalp horribly bad.  I also tried one of the electronic combs, but the little suckers crawl FAST.  The comb only works if you actually touch the bug with it.  An added benefit is your child will have very shiny and soft hair!  After you are all finished, do it again in 3 days, just in case you missed one nit, because it will multiply unbelievably fast.  Also treat the entire house, bedding, toys, and all of the people.

I assume that by louses you mean those little crawly things that get into kids hair. If so after you have treated their heads with the recommended shampoo and combed out EVERY nit, don't leave even one, the mature ones that are about to hatch are pearly and look dark, the young ones are almost opaque. When you run your finger  nail down the hair strand they will actually snap off.  A metal nit comb works better than the plastic ones. The treatment kills lice not nits they will hatch in 7 to 10 days and your at it all over again. Once done put a few drops of tea tree oil in the shampoo and conditioner too if you so choose you won't like the smell of it but it works, and use it on a regular basis. Wash all bedding etc. in hot water and dry in the dryer on the hottest setting if it  can't be washed place in the dryer on high heat for about 20 min. You don't get rid of them easily but when you do don't stop checking some people are actually carriers but don't get them themselves. My grandson came home from the hospital with them they are not a health hazard just a nuisance. Make sure the schools are aware that they are back.
I live in black fly country and wondered why we were being bitten around the ankles but not the neck then it dawned on us we had tea tree oil in our shampoo and they don't like the smell of it it repels mosquitoes too. We put a little on our ankles and no more bites.
If you meant the other kind of louses, they have stalking laws they are easier to get rid of than the buggy  kind.
Either way good luck and be strong.
