Unfortunately thats how it is in places like that. There is nothing like the country. Just keep trying. Also they should be a early child hood clinic near by. Go and ask them if they know of other places you can go to . Good luck honey. And keep ypur head up. You'll find a good friend soon.

Hey it is always going to be hard to meet new people in a new place they do have there little groups they cling to how about inviting your next door neighbours over for a bbq, thats always a great way to break the ice, then you might find you are making friends with them and they could introduce you to a few of there friends before you know it you will have friends coming out of your ears lol. good luck hope i havce helped Brittxx

It is never easy...  Usually most people stick to their own kind.. But you may find if you stick it out eventually these people might not seem so stuck on each other. I mean give them time to get to know you...

It took me time to meet new people too... I hang out in the parks waiting for people to come along and saw who were regulars. You can start up a conversation just by asking how old someone's child is. Or telling them how cute they are (this is always a good one..)

I would say stick it out, give those a chance around you to get to know you.. Maybe they are sussing you out before they try to get to know you.. Because just as they are strangers to you, you are a stranger to them too. And sometimes people like to sus out the situation first..

Good luck.. Hang in there.. I am sure there are friends just waiting around the corner.. Good luck.. Jess xx

Hi,
Your problem sounds very familiar as I have experienced it twice in my life, due to moving. My approach, both times, was to bring the people to "my territory" where I could feel more comfortable and get to know them better. So, I made little invitations and a week later I had eight moms and their babies at my place for tea. I had a task for each mom written on her invitation: they were to make one "hand made" tactile toy that we'd share with all the babies. We ended up having a blast and I realized that they were (well, most of them, not all, hehe) way friendlier than I had thought initially. While I know that this may not be your style, you can certainly take the idea and modify to your personality, style, etc. Good luck.
