I have a 4 month old and I feel like my body is never really going to go back to the way it used to be. Clothes don't fit as well and are uncomforable. I still haven't lost those last 10 lbs, and I still pee more than I used to. I can't get through the night without peeing anymore. Now my baby is sleeping better, but I have to get up anyways. Has anyone else had these problems??
I also have a 4 month old and have noticed more than glaringly obvious changes to my body...including the c-section scar..more subtle changes, plus mental changes as well!
more seriously though, I think people are so different that it may take some no time at all to return to pre-pregnancy weight, while others take longer. From the responses it seems that there is no fixed time, as long as your diet is healthy and you take regular exercise - all the usual key stuff. I quite liked some of the extra tips..worth a try!
I imagine that as your child gets more active, so do you as you have to keep up!
I have a long way to go before I get back to pre-pregnancy weight as it seems I live in a packet of biscuits! and feel so guilty when I kow what I should be doing...sounds lke you are well on the way and thats great. I am sure it'll be off before you know it. x
hehe the pee thing... pelvic floor excercises sweetie...and lotsa action in the bedroom will help with that... as far as the extra lil bit of you don't stress, just watch your diet (plenty of greens less breads and starchy foods at dinner) and do a half hour or so of excercise each day and it'll happen some people it takes a bit longer, i's one of them too hehe... hope this helps :)'s for you frum becca
i have a 4 month old as well and i'm back into all my old cloths (size 8), the key is you need to excersice (for cardiovascular and fittness)and do some weight training for strength and to tone back up,and you do not have to go to the gym in order to do it, just purchase yourself a weights arobics vidio or d.v.d , and do it while bub is asleep either at night in the morning or evening, i have 6 children and i excersised after each one and lost the 16 -19 kgs i gained while pregnant, so it is possible to go back to normal (there are obviously a couple of things that will never go bac to normal though lol) you've just gotta get moveing, hope this inspires you
i wouldn't worry to much, i took me about 5 months to get back to normal although i still haven't lost the weight i wanted to either and sienna is 10months and we are now trying for another so i am on a strict diet to get rid of it before i fall pregnant at the moment lol. but they say it can even take up to a year before we feel like ourselves again, don't put yourself down to much about it, she is only 4 months you sound like you are diong a great job at getting things back to normal for you again. good luck, Brittxx
I would now be worried about being completely back to normal so soon. It takes a woman (on average) a year to get back to being prepregnancy. you've only had 4 months. It took me 9 mnths and I still have a few pounds to lose. If you are really concerned about how you look, do some light toning excersises. There are a great way to get in shape and you can do them with your little one. But try not to worry about it to much, as that added stress will just make it harder. Remember it took you 9 months for your body to produce the miracle, it's going to take at least that long for your body to get back to before them :) A website to check out for excersises is www.babyzone.com. Good luck!!
UR BODY CHANGES ALLOT AFTER HAVING KIDS,I USED TO BE SIZE 16-18 BEFORE KIDS NOW IAM SIZE 26 THE ONLY TIME I LOOSE WEIGHT IS WHEN IAM PREGNANT.AND MY BLADDER HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME
I agree with zacsmum, I lost *most* of my weight from my pregnancy (son is 2yrs old), but I am not the same, slender shape I was before. I gain weight easier now, especially in my hips and stomach, which I never did before. I finally accepted that I wasn't going to lose those "last 10 lbs" and I have learned to be happy with who I am no matter what I weigh.
As for the bladder problems, I can definitely sympathize. Ever since having my son it seems like my bladder control has become extremely weak. It has been over 2 years since I gave birth and I can still *barely* make it through the night without using the bathroom. It's frustrating, but you have to remember that you could have so many more serious issues. Getting up to use the bathroom isn't too big of a deal, just be happy that lil angel is finally sleeping better!
Hey there, My weight went back to normal after about 6 months but my shape is different. Clothes don't fit like they used to. I gained 25kg or I think 50lbs during pregnancy. I lost my muscle tone so I think it's a matter of hitting the gym once your finished breast feeding and getting enough sleep so you have the energy to go!
Mine is almost 8months and I still feel incredibly tired (I had a bad run with girly problems and now I have low Iron) but I still get up to pee through the night. It could be an infection, although I think maybe not unless you are peeing constantly through the day and not much comes out and you get a strong sensation or pain when you do (ive had them many times before). I have found that since my first son I have had to get up atleast once a night to pee. I put it down to the fact that I sleep lighter since having the kids so Im kind of awake so feel like I have to pee?? I have noticed on the nights I have a good nights sleep and Im out like a light, I dont have to pee.
I have days where I feel quite beaten down just because my body doesnt feel the same as it used to and nothing seems to work properly. My doc said it takes 9months to make this baby and if you look at it like an illness, and like most illnesses if you were crook for 2weeks it takes 2weeks to get over. So Im crossing my fingers and hoping at 9months I will wake up feeling fabulous.
It does take awhile for some to get your body back to 'normal'. Some do not get back to normal. It takes nine months to put the weight on. At least give yourself that to lose the weight. If it happens before then, that's awesome!
Your body has been through alot of changes! If you're breastfeeding and drinking alot of fluids during the day/evening hours than that would explain the bathroom visits. If you do not have any othe symptoms with your nightly bathroom visits I wouldn't worry about the peeing either. To me it doesn't sound abnormal at all.
I never lost any weight after my 1st pregnancy but i did with the other two so try not to worry too much about the weight side of things.
BUT what you say about the peeing doesn't seem right to me. I'd suggest a trip to your local doctor for a check up. It sounds tp me as though you may be suffering from a bladder infection which is quite common after having a baby. Soe ppl don't get any other symptoms other tha nexcessive peeing when they have a bladder infection.
If this is not the case maybe a diabetic check would be in order.
