Zoloft

I was just wondering if anyone else here that takes Zoloft experiences blurred vision in one eye? It happened before when I was on it last time too, but I just thought that was a consequence of having a bit of a drink the night before, but now that Im not drinking Im having the same problem so now I know it wasnt that at all. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks guys.

Hi I was just wondering do you ever get a headache after your blurred vision ,as this happened to me after the birth of my 1st child without any medication but later found out that it was actually migrains i had never had 1 before my children.I would get like a swirling blurry sensation in one eye then get a headache on the opposite side of the blurry eye ,which was lucky for me as i knew as soon as my eye went funny i took a panadol  and a lie down for the onsett of the headache.

I would deffinatly get it checked out if it continued

I think you would be advisable to go and see your doctor again as Zoloft does have a tendency to have quite a few side effects.  We had our son on them and he did not appear to have any side effects at all but our niece was a totally different story - she got quite hypo and agro when she was on them.  So I think it is a matter of fine tuning your medication to suite your own metabolism.  You may find that u have to try a few different ones before getting that right one for you.  All    the best my love.   Just remember that they are not something that you have to stay on for your life.  Neither my son or my niece are on them now or anything else for that matter - they were able to come off them after a period of 2 years.

Zoloft kept me awake and drove me literally insane (sleep deprivation does that, my insomnia is bad enough without chemical assistance!), but it didn't blur my vision.

However, like all medications of this nature it affects everyone differently, so only you and your doctor can figure out if it's the right one for you.

Hello my friend, I had different expereinces with Zoloft, Im not sure what you are experiencing is a side effect, its possible and I would pop back to the Dr to check. It may also be a coincidence, it may be simply an eye infection best not to muck around with eye problems though and have it checked immediately. If the Dr feels it could be a side effect he will know what else is available. I am currently on Effexor which appears to be OK in the side effects dept for me....good luck and best wishes.

Although everyone reacts differently to medication i strongly recommend that you change your medication! I was on zoloft for about 2 weeks and then had to change. BECAUSE i threw up every day and on one of those days i passed out 5 times in an hour! I also had the blurred vision. And whilst it made me happy when i wasn't sick, i knew it wasn't healthy!
Efexor XR is great, although you may experience a little bit of lethargy! It is better to take depression tablets of a night for that very reason and it also has a better chance of reaching your brain waves that are out of balance.
I hope i have helped a little and that you feel better soon!

zoloft has heaps of side effects and not all of them are nice i would go straight to doc and try an alternative treatment, dont mean to pry but have you looked at other avenues ie natural alternatives? i believe anti depressants have their place but not as a long term solution as with most pharmaceutical drugs all they do is mask the problem, give you a false sense of well being and have so many side effects.

there are lots of natural products out there which dont numb you but help to repair brain pathways and improve the way your brain produces things like seratonin and dopemine, also things to help relieve stress and anxiety without ignoring the issues.

just an idea and ive seen lots of successful cases, good luck!

do they DEFINATELY work though? Coz im not willing to risk something that MAY make me feel better, I need something that is guaranteed. For the sake of myself, my relationship with my fiance and my relationship with my kids I cant go back to the way I was before. Which is why Im on something prescribed not just an over the counter thing.

they do work, same as prescrptions there is a settle in time of about 2 weeks, but its more than just a pill its helping yourself to get better, someone else said get a hobby great idea, exercise is also a fantastic remedy, you would be amazed how good a walk can make you feel, i always find the beach is my saviour a walk or even just to sit and listen to waves.

the beach has a lot of good energy and it really helps to clear your thoughts, yoga is also a powerful tool, and i know it sounds soppy but go get some self help books, the road less travelled was one i read after my divorce it gave me a lot of clarity and just made me aware my problems could be fixed by me!

yes, its true about the prescription drugs. I was on anti depressants but no longer am! It is really important for you to focus on the good things in life rather than the bad (i know how hard this is because i do suffer depression) AND also if you have a fun hobby or if there is something you think you would like to do....occupy your brain that way...it helps to beat the depression and trust me it works. Before i fell pregnant i used to run around the backyard crying and holding a knife to my wrist or my throat.
I now can laugh and always have a smile on my face! oh and am not on anti depressant drugs either! i just occupy my brain with healthy thoughts and healthy activities!

i would love to but just dont have the time for hobbies anymore. my main hobby is photography but its very hard to do that at night for obvious reasons lol which is why im just sticking to my other favourite thing which is minti. i went off the meds for a while and totally fell off the wagon in a big way and i dont want that to happen again, it nearly destroyed my family and i cant have that happen again.
