School shoes

My eldest son has just started Kindy and I forked out a heap of money on a pair of school shoes thinking that I would get what I paid for, and they didnt even last a full term at school. The sole has all worn out and the front of them are scuffed really badly. I know I cant do much about the scuffing other than polish them, but I really thought the soles would last a bit longer than this!

Can anyone reccommend a good brand of school shoe that will last him a while? Im a bit hesitant to fork out alot of money on a pair of shoes again if they are only gonna last us another 3mths!

Thanks for your help everyone.

Take those damn shoes back where you got them from and get a refund. They should last a hell of alot longer then that. Tell them how disappointed you are. Also Clarkes are a good shoe, They seem to last the year. Also look at skater shoe like Human, Coarado and nike. My boys seem to outgrow these before they outwear them. Hope this helps.

Well kids are really hard on shoes and so am I. So I usually spend money on one nice pair and then buy cheap ones that I don't care if I beat them up. I spent $90 on a pair of shoes and they were trashed in a short period of time. Hope this might work for ya

good luck!!!!!!!!

Roc is a good brand but will make no difference as boy just wear in there shoes really really quick. Girls shoes always last alot longer except if they are highly active like the boys. Cheap or expensive they arent going to make much difference. Good luck in finding a good pair of shoes. Let me know if you come across any.

Hiya hun

If I am buying the black leathers I go roc as you have BUT in saying that John and Tiana are very rough on their shoes so they only last about 3 to 6 months...If you can a shoe with a thicker sole if its allowed to be a leather runner type shoe I would probably head for a skate type shoe...They have a thicker sole...John is 8 months into his now I bought him linx i think they....Michaela has a pair of black school shoes that are colorado that a friend gave us when she was grade 7 they are still being worn by her and she is grade 9....I think with some kids it doesnt matter what you buy them if they are a rough and tumble type kid or drags their feet etc....It wont matter....Im not much help am I hehehe

May i add that no matter what i spend on master 5 wheter it be good brand and expensive or crappy he still wears them out within 2 mths...... My Boy runs and kicks and ruins shoes 3x as fast as sister.....

I cant afford to spend big money on him (was buying from The sports shops (have to be black) now so i just get him clarks......plus a cheaper pair.... he changes them every second day and wears the cheaper pair for sports......

Jay did seem to look after his airflex (65.00) for 3 mths....LOL

probably doesnt help much but they say boys will be boys

Roc and Grosby are both really good. But I would be sticking with the cheapest if they are only going to last a couple months. Then your getting 6 months wear for the same price as one month of pricey shoes.

I wanted the clark black runners, look like normal school shoes but the soles are thicker like a runner they didn't have his size so I got nike ones, they are exactly the same.  My little man is very rough on his shoes and they are holding up really well, I couldn't tell you how much they were I was in a bit of a daze that day!!! lol but they were on special, I got them from shoe's and sox at Castle Hill shopping centre.  Surely they will allow them?? If you buy cheap shoes you are going to have the same problem and end up forking out more money in the long run.  I was recommended the clark black runners by a few mums. xx

i use to buy goffreys shoe shoes ,but like you monyq83 my boys go though them like a packet of salt.

Now i just buy running shoes and they get  few more out of them , they don't make shoes like they use to.At least this way i am saving on shoes was well instead of paying out 50.00 a pair , i pay half for runs
