I'M BACK!

For those of you who missed me I have been locked out of Minti for OVER A MONTH- since the upgrades.  Minti admin were unable to solve the problem.  So finally, out of frustration, I asked my IT husband to have a look at the problem and he got me into the site  in 5 minutes! Hmmmm!  Somebody needs new IT support methinks!!!

lol i agree with both these responses however i would like to ad that no matter how tight ones security may be....it is easy for some people to hack into the admin system, especially if you're in IT!
I say it could've been the settings on the computer and that hubby might have done a hacking job if it wasn't at your end!

If someone fixed it from your end then it wasnt the minti site it was your computer/ISP

If your implying minti need new IT help because your hubby did it from your end then you need to think about that because for people to get you in when its not their issue they would need to go through 1000000 different things to see what it could be without coming to your home and fixing it like that.

I KNOW how hard IT support is....

"Have your tried turning it off and on again?"

sounds like the issue was your end?
Can you tell me what he did to fix the problem?

Yeah sure.  He worked out that when Minti was upgraded the passwords were made "case sensitive" and something else "sensitive" that I've forgotten - and that included, in my case, that you cannot press the space bar at the end of the username which I was doing (indeed had always done) in order to get rid of the options that pop up below.  When I say he fixed it from our end what I mean is that he trouble shooted the problem and it was sorted very quickly.  I think it just took some lateral thinking.  It seemed so basic I wondered why I hadn't got an email from Minti admin advising me that there was a possibility that pressing the space bar may render the username invalid.

so glad he helped you :)
just curious - why did you feel you needed to press space bar after you user name?
I am not sure what the options are that you mention "pop up"? Can you explain these to me?
I am guessing you are referring to when you were trying to login... and I don't experience any pop up options?

Sure, when you type in your name the computer tries to gues what you're going to type and your name pops up below (a bit like when you type something in google and it tries to predict if you've typed it before).  Only, I'm a fast typer so it's easier for me to type my name rather than use the mouse to select the option I am provided. However, you cannot get rid of the option just like that.  You have to either press the space bar or, grab your mouse and click off.  Grabbing the mouse and clicking off is annoying to me. My husband figured this out by cutting and pasting the username and password from emails you sent me into hte site and finding out that that worked so it had to be something additional that was being done. I was being case sensitive so it was somethign else. He then discovered my space bar short cut.   It is important to note, though that I always do this rather than select options for the same reason.  The problem was, after the upgrades, for some reason, the computer didn't like it and it was reading the space bar as an additional character in the username which it  just didn't do previously but I couldn't figure this out on my own not guessing that that could be a possible answer.  Anyway, can't tell you why you don't get pop-up options.  Maybe different computer????

You know that you can turn that option off (for the computer to remember user names) in the Internet Settings on your computer? That way it wouldn't pop up again.

now i understand
you can just press the "tab" button (what i do), or the "delete" button rather than the space button i think.
i am surprised our system let you login before with a space after your username, this is not normal practice, but your were fortunate it used to ;)
