A twin bed is the smallest bed you can get here in the U.S. (aside from a toddler bed). It can only accomodate one person cofortably. It is currently what size my son is sleeping on, and I can barely fit with him when I put him to bed!

A full size bed is slightly wider, thought not twice the twin bed. (2 Twin bed will actually equal a king bed). A twin will fit one adult comfortably, or 1 adult and 1 child. (2 adults can use it, though you would be elbowing each other all the time). My hubby and I used a full size bed when we were first married, and boy, that wasn't fun.

A comforter is a blanket, used on the very top of the bed. It's usually thicker and heavier. They come in the same sizes as the mattresses (twin, full, queen, king). A quilt is a smaller blanket, usually used as a decorative thing on top of the bed. You can usually use this as a cover blanket when you're napping, if you don't want to get under the comforter. It is small, usually just covering from your feet to barely above your waist.

I do not know exact measurements, but a twin is a bed meant for one person, a toddler to an adult can sleep on. A full is roughly twice the width of a twin meant for two people sleeping. (never thought about it, but that is ironic since "twin" refers to "two" ...and a twin bed only sleeps one ... haha!) A comforter is usually very fluffy, made from one piece of decorative material and is the top spread you put on your bed. A quilt is a top spread for your bed that is made up of cut peices sewn together to make a pattern/design. Also a true quilt has decorative stitching that makes a seperate pattern on top of the sewn together pieces.

Twin : (refers to size of bed or bedding) a bed that sleeps one

Full : (refers to size of bed or bedding) a bed that can sleep two

Comforter : (refers to style of your decorative bed cover) a big fluffy top spread for bed ... comforters can come in sizes twin, full, queen, king, california king

Quilt : (refers to style of your decorative bed cover) a top spread for bed made from cut cloth pieces sewn together and then decoratively stitched ... quilts can come in sizes twin, full, queen, king, california king

Hope this helps !
