my girls where the same, they never had day sleeps almost from birth so i never pushed them too, and some times they would just sneak off and have a nap or fall asleep playing etc, the best thing for me was that they all slept a solid 10 to 12 hours at night again from birth, so i guess as long as they are getting enough sleep daily and dont spend the day cranky or irritable due to lack of sleep, then let her go without a day sleep, she might just be a busy little beaver who loves the daylight hours!

my boys are up at 8.30-9am down for a sleep at 1pm till 3.30pm and in bed by 8pm latest ...

My sister had a lot of trouble getting her baby to have a sleep

My cousin is a nightmare and she has to be cuddled then when she finally does fall asleep she sleeps for 30minutes.

It depends on the child. Sounds like she may be ready to drop it. You can always see how you go and if shes not ready then start it up again. :)

My 4 year old stopped having a day time nap around your child's age now. It all depends on your child and you're the only one really who know's when it's time too. Good luck with it all.

My daughter cut her nap just a bit earlier than this at about 17 mths...... she now sleeps from 630pm till 630-7am........ she doesnt seem to need the nap...

sometimes if she has had a big day she drops off in the car or on my lap for a 30min cap nap but i really hae to tire her out to do this........

Your her mum though and you will always know best...... I think your choice of dropping it though is a good one......

I believe you already know the answer to your own question...
It is your decision and i don't think anyone would think badly of dropping the day sleep.... So if you were looking for confirmation i would say you got it... Besides only you know what right for your child

Hi,

My daughter is 17 months and I am starting to have the same problem.  I find that she will fall asleep by herself on th floor and then I pop her into her cot.  When she is at my mother in laws she always has asleep there must be the nanny touch

I'd try dropping her day sleep.  It's obvious that she is fighting it, and you definately don't want to get into the habit of having to hold her to go to sleep.

Good luck and I hope that she doesn't get too grissly to begin with.
