I just read in my sons newsletter I have to make him a easter hat for the parade hmmm little thing I forgot about... I don't have an artistic bone in my body, does anyone have any ideas or websites or something.... anything to help me.... or would someone like to do it for me lol I can't even come up with an idea, I don't want him to be one of those kids with the most pathetic hat in the parade HELP!!!
Grab an old cap, some colored paper and some easter eggs, and cotton wool... LOL
take the cap wrap a peice of colored paper around the bit that sits on the head to make a kind of bowl.. Stick some some cotton wool in the bottom then add easter eggs.... Then cut out some bunny ears and staple one either side of the bowl like paper... Then on the viser part of the cap cut two bunny like teeth bits of paper and stick them to the front of the viser part. IF old staples work well. Or just use some good glue, or sticky tape, although staples and glue are better options.. Then you could also either pick up the googlely eyes and stick two on the front just of the bowl like thing...
Oh and draw or get some of those pip cleaners to put wiskers on as well...
YOu could hard boil some eggs and get your son to paint them... Or put a pin prick in either end of the egg and blow the egg out of one of the holes and then paint them, color them, wrap them up in tin foil... Or sit them in some water with a bit of food coloring for a bit...
Good luck
Hi, Just in case you would like another quick solution.... Try using a bicycle helmet as a base. Many cardboard hats can be difficult to keep on an active childs head. You can temporarily tape cardboard or a soft toy bunny to a bike helmet for a fast yet effective eater hat. Last year my child drew and coloured in bright colourful easter eggs and stuck them around his helmet. Pipe cleaners are also easy to thread through the holes of the helmet for great imaginative designs and most importantly.... it won't fall off your childs head!
For Ethan's first parade I got a cheap straw hat, some small easter eggs, stickers and glitter glue. We stuck the eggs on with superglue (to stop the kids from pulling them off as well as to hold them in place!) and decorated every empty spot with different coloured star stickers and the glitter glue. He looked great!
last year for my kindie boy i found a rabbit that had big floppy hairs.....
I cut off the ears and the hands..... I gave my son the hands to wear....... he also had big floppy ears after i added elastic ...and drew on a pink rabbit nose...he had a basket full of little easter eggs...... he looked like a cute little curly haired bunny rabbit...... and he was also very original......
i love my kids standing out though.....thanks for taking me back..... I miss those times and forget them too easily...Luckily i got pics to use for his 21st in yrs to come....hehehehehe
You know how they hang corks off a hat .......well get some bright coloured ribbon and hang eater eggs off a hat..all the way around....then get the child to do some pictures of eggs with bright colours and cut them out and stick them on the hat to jazz it up!
it would look great!!!
You would just staple the ribbon to the hat and then stick the ribbon to the eggs with tape!
