Basically i am begining to get worried as i dont know whether i have felt my baby kick and move about yet! is this normal or shud i get worried? how far gone are you normally before you feel it??? please help!!!

I didn't really feel much until somewhere between 24 and 26 weeks in my first pregnancy (I can't quite remember now! - but I know it was after the usual time that the books say you should feel kicking by a couple of weeks. Don't stress - it takes a while to feel it, plus you could be feeling it and not know that's what it was. In the beginning part it feels like a little muscle spasm in your tummy. By the end it feels like someone pounding you with a rubber mallet from the inside. Okay, not that bad, but you'll be in no doubt by then. Just enjoy the ride!

Hi there. I would not worry too much. Your baby has probably already kicked and you have not even noticed it because you are not familiar with the sensation. I felt my baby kick at about 18 weeks. But let me tell you when you finally notice and feel the kicking as your pregnancy goes on you will love it. If you are really worried then I am sure your midwife can advise you. Hi there! Its nuthing to worry about. My fist child i felt at 8 months and i know why now lol. My second child i felt her about 3 1/2 months. All babies are different and as long as your midwife or doctor are on the ball things will happen and when you feel it it can be the best part of your pregnancy. Or in my case with the second child towards the end i wanted her to stop and sleep. She would kick me in the ribs and it would be funny if your talking to someone and half way through u scream in pain bec ur baby decides to play and kick ya. Hope you do really well and congrats!!!!

I felt Rylan moving at 13weeks! it was just little flutters but it was definatly him.
But on the other hand my friend didnt feel her son at all until she was 25weeks as her placenta was at the front, she actually went to the hospital because she was soooo worried, they hooked her up to the monitor and the nurse keept saying "did you feel that" but due to the placenta, tennille couldnt feel a thing!

No need to worry! With my 1st pregnancy i didn't feel anything until 16 wks,but with my 2nd and 3rd I felt all the flutters very early. A lot of my friends were very much the same. By the end of your pregnancy you will be sick of it. LOL. The very best luck to.

for me it was about 15 -16 weeks my mother inlaw thought i was nuts and so did the mid wife till i got her hand held it to my belly and she felt it but it differs for every one and some dont feel it till 22 weeks or further but others feel it at 18 weeks so dont be too worried. how far along are you? the mid wifes always told me when i was worried he wasnt moving to sit quietly have a cold glass of milk and you may feel him move within 5 mins

hi, i started feeling proper movements and kicks at around the fourth month. but it differs, the first kick i felt was just after a trip to tasmania. i thought it had something to do with the boat and then the 5 hours i had to drive afterwards

well the others are right you have probably felt it move it is just like butterflies in you stomach but the more children you have the earlier you feel it i suppose you know what it feels like. my 3rd child was about 12weeks and the 1st about 17-18 weeks. once you have gotten further along the baby will start to kick you every were and it will be really uncomfortable and than you will be complaining of that. but i am sure you have nothing to worry about. good luck and i hope all goes well.

You may have already felt it b/c sometimes at first it just feels like butterflies in your tummy or your stomach growling or your food digesting. I didn't feel it until 17 weeks, but everyone is different. As you get farther along you will be able to feel it for sure! A kick, jab, or even a punch as things get crowded in there! Alex my first my hubby and i were lying down on our bed and he was hugging my tummy as he always did and the next thing you know he got kicked/punched off. he never let my tummy go after that and always talked to it to. that was around 18-19 weeks but i was very small. i got asked a lot how far i was. with charlie i was 17 weeks. but it all depends on how big you are and how much fluid too.

how pregnant are you? With my first I was more concerned and wasn't sure if i was feeling the baby. I second guesses the very faint flutterings I felt. With my second I noticed movement way earlier because I knew what to feel for. If it's your first, I agree with the others that you may begin to feel the baby around 20 weeks, give or take a couple. And like the others said, if you're at all concerned talk to your doctor.

hey thanks for the advice, i am actually 21 weeks pregnant and still have not had a scan for 20 weeks so i am a little worried also i have a twin sister who has just given birth on the 18 th of march and i have seen how she has progressed and you could see her baby kicking at around 17 weeks but they may be because she was carrying twins but did not know it at the time!!!!

I wasn't sure if I was feeling my baby move until long after I was sure I could feel it move. It starts off feeling like a twitch or flutter and eventually gets stronger until you are well aware that you have arms and legs in your belly! Have you had your 20 week scan yet? Did you see the baby move then? Often, you can watch the baby move and correlate it with what you are feeling. If you are concerned, talk to your OB.

Hi, I felt my baby move - whether it was a kick or arm ovement or what I don't know and that was about the 18th week. However I know people who haven't felt heir baby kick at all as she had very strong tummy muscles cause of her job. Also, a dancer friend didn't feel her baby either. I not being in the same physical shape did! Alternately friends who were having their second or third child knew what to expect and felt their baby much earlier.
If you are worried I would go for a check up with the midwives who can monitor your baby's movements and check heartbeat etc.

Hey i am 21 weeks today and i dont recall haveing those feelings all i can feel is that when i walk to work in the morning i get a stich ow in the stomach and theres a hard lum and hen it goes is that the baby???? so how come i did not feel it move out of that positon??? did you ever experience this?
