What do you do for Easter

We have this way of doing things in my family for Easter where we limit chocolates.   The children in my family (I only have 1, but my extended family do the same with their children too) get a DVD, a new set of clothes for winter, a religious book that's age appropriate and one egg.  Only the parents buy for their own children and all the children make crafts such as paper easter baskets, etc for the adults.  We have Hot Cross Buns for breakfast on Good Friday and steamed fish and veges at night.  We all spend Easter Saturday together at the river for the whole day and Easter Sunday is only for each family.  My daughter and I spend the day together just the 2 of us unless my mum and brother come by.  That's what we do.  Does anyone else have their own way of doing things over Easter?

as my daughter is dairy allergic we dont have easter eggs...
what a waste of money anyway and no good for my hips...i used to spend average $70 on eggs for my family.....

We go out for a meal at a restaurant and spend the day together...it givs us all time to sit and enjoy and talk without distraction.... and costs alot less than the eggs ever did (thanks to Sizzler).....

Wow,$70! That's so much money on chocolate.  That's why I buy her a movie, she can get a lot of enjoyment out of it, and that's what we spend sunday afternoon doing, watching a movie together.  I'm very strict on how much junk food my daughter eats, but I do allow some at special times just to break the monotony of healthy eating.  I have also being buying her a religious book from the first christmas, when she was 4 months old. I buy one for Easter and Christmas every year so she has a good selection of religious books for me to read to her as I focus on the family and religious side of it.

We don't do the whole easter egg thing.  We have Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday after church, and go to church on Easter Sunday :)

For Easter, we hide eggs and present's around the house, and let our 4 year old go on a treasure hunt.

We usually let her get away with a few things on the sunday, and we don't really eat that healthy. What's one day out of about 360. We only eat junk food on special occasions, and we eat bacon and egg for brekkie, and hot cross buns for lunch, and a roast of some sort for dinner.

Usually stuff ourselves that day.

Ah, that sounds like a fun day.  To me it's all about family.  I did an Easter hunt last year because there were a few kids in my care but this time I won't.  Hannah's having an Easter Egg Hunt at her daycare so that'll do for her.
