What's the most useful thing you've been given?

I have had my daughter making easter crafts all day and i'm laminating them now. The laminator I have is a cheap post office one that a friend of mine bought me for christmas one year. It is probably the most used item in the house after the caserole dish I was given when I first left home.  Thought I'd share that, and find out if anyone else has been given something really useful that they probably would never have bought themselves but use all the time?

by far it would be my printer that i was given for my birthday last year i use it everyday for logans school stuff, and for photo's and accessories for my scrapbooking. i probably would have bought one eventually anyway but the one i was given has so many cool features that i could go on about it for ages... but i wont bore anyone with all that technical babble. so yer my printer... what a cool question it made me think hehehe :)'s for you

It's so easy to use, you can buy the laminating pockets from anywhere, i mostly get them from kmart or the supermarket.  I printed off a picture of the Easter Bunny and my daughter painted it using water paints. I cut the face out of the bunny and put a photo of my daughter's face in it's place, then I cut around the outline of the bunny and glued it onto bright coloured card, put it in the laminator using an A4 size pocket (which is the size piece of card I used) and away we went.  It doesn't take long to get hot but turn it on then wait a few minutes, but make sure you are watching closely because it gets as hot as an iron and can be very dangerous with littlies around.  I wrote on the back of it who it was to, followed by "Easter 2007" then my daughter's name. I've printed another one off to take to work and photocopy so we can make them for the kids to take home to their parents this week for Easter.

we love our laminator here aswell

last yr for angel's birthday i made "backstage passes" as the invites

i used the pockets one size up from credit card size made printed the right size picture of angel printed the details of the party (pizza hut NEVER AGAIN) glued them together laminated them hole punched the top put in some cord and the girls all thought they were hot...they all wore them on the night and got all dollied up they had a great time

all up i think the invites would have cost me about $2 the lami pockets were $8.50 and i still have 30 something of them left and it was something diffrent
