Red or Green?

My daughter went through a stage of only eating red apples not so long ago, now she will only eat green apples.  I was just wondering if there was a difference nutrition wise with red or green apples?

Red or Green?

I just asked a friend of mine who knows his apples well!!!!

The fresh apples are really the only ones with any nutritional value, Out in season now are Green- Granny smith & golden delicious RED- High early, royal gala(although these are almost on the way out) Red delicious and the Jonathan. The sun downer and the Pink Lady will be out in about 1 month.

Tree ripened are the best as most apples are picked slightly green and then ripened in the gas rooms (cool storage) these apples as well as taste crap have little or no nutritional value. So really, If you are buying your apples from Cole's etc.... they probably have nothing of value in them any how!!!! This sucks I know. We are lucky, I'm surrounded by orchids and always have nice fresh fruit all the time but I do feel for others with out such luxuries

Good luck, and as long as your fruit are as fresh as possible, all should be fine

Red or Green?
Thanks for your response. We did get our last lot from coles but I usually buy apples, and other fruit, from the markets or from those stalls on sides of roads. They are usually around the same price but sold as "Organic" and "Vine Ripened" or "Tree Ripened" depending on the fruit.  I only buy vine ripened tomatoes as Hannah can tell the difference in taste.  She 'helped' me with the shopping last time by packing the trolley with her fave fruit - and lots of it! So she has a lot to get through.
