please help

Hi everyone, recently actually over Easter our 11 month old daughter got very sick and was admitted to the hospital..Yes she spend her 1st Easter in the hospital(thankfully she did not understand as she is to young but it was very hard on me). The dr's believe she has something called a rota virus does anyone know much about this.. All i know is she was and still is pretty sick.. She was admitted late Sat night discharged Mon at noon and back in late Tues night and discharged Wed at supper.. today she seems a bit better mind she is only getting pedialye mixed with lactaid milk.. So i was just looking for some info on this or what i can do to help her.. thanks in advance.. She no longer as a fever.. Yesturday at the hospital as soon as she had some banana and apple sauce and a bottle of lactaid milk with in 5 mins she over filled her diaper boy was it messy... thanks again

this would have to be one of the worst viruses,i had a friend who's daughter had it and made her so sick sorry to tell you this but she was unable to walk from it don't no exactly what had happened but i no she couldn't walk and they had to put her legs into plaster for 6 weeks maybe longer she is fine now but she still has to be careful not to catch other viruses she had to be pulled out of day-care everything it was soooooooo scarey.

this dosn't happen to all children but it does happen and parents need to be educated on it because i had never heard of it until this girl caught it,its a really nasty virus

keep an eye on her...my oldest got that at one yr old and was hospitalized and resulted in her intestine turning inward from all the vommitting and diarrhea and caused surgery. She lost about an inch of her small intestine. It was horrible.  If your little one doesn't seem to be getting better in a few days, take her in to get her checked.

Rota Virus is very serious! I wrote some advice here not long ago on it. Click here. Please dont think this is just another illness. It can be quite bad so read that advice I wrote and keep an eye on her.
