Hi I am a remedial massage therapist and get asked this question quite alot.
The best thing i can suggest for you is to have a high alkaline low acid diet.
This cleanses the system prevents lactic acid build up after activities.
It is best to start off with 80% alkaline food to 20% acid foods, as it takes about 5 times alkaline to 1 part acid to dilute the acid in your body. Then slowly increase the acid foods to 30% and keep it there.
Your stress levels will drop, you will notice a big change within a week.
Here is a list to get you started. As you may notice these are some of the every day foods you may eat.
You dont have to go overboard and eat new things only if you want to though.
This is not a gimmick this is not a crash diet, this is a change of lifestyle the whole family will benefit.
As I have said i have given this list to my clients who are sports enthusists, and football referee's and the results are non short of miraculous for them. They rave on about the energy that they have, they say they feel sharper in the mind, healthier in the body less aches and pains.
This is a lot better than spending a fortune on the health shop's detox programs which are not healthy for you in the long run anyway. A true detox for the body should last 90 days to get the full benifit. These shorter detox programs just puts the body under a lot of stress.
Even after a month you feel that you want more there is a drink you can take which is a huge alkaline boost for your body and that is called vital green's. This stuff tastes horrible (i have to be honest here) but it is best if you drink it with V8. But in all honesty if you stick to the alkaline foods you may not need the vital greens that is just optional.
