Sleeping in own bed.

My daughter is 2 1/2. She has been sleeping in her big girl bed for ages. Her room is all done up in 'Winx Club' A cartoon she loves, you may know it... anyways the prob is that my friend kept telling her Winx were yucky because it always got a big reaction out of her and she found it funny. It was innocent enough, however now my daughter refuses to sleep in her bedroom and won't even look at winx anymore. I don't want to go to the extremes of redecorating her bedroom to get her back in there... Any suggestions? My friend feels really bad...

I might try getting my friend to watch it with her... Thanx. Personally it isn't really age appropriate but she liked it and doesn't immitate them or anything... to her they are just fairies. Here's to a good nights sleep.

Have you tried sitting down with her to watch Winx? Maybe go on about how great they are and how you really like them and she might come around to the idea she likes them.  I haven't seen it personally, but Hannah has a pair of Winx sunnies she thinks are the greatest.  If you watch it and look like you're enjoying that might be enough of a reason to keep the room that way. My daughter usually likes things if I like them. She's like my little shadow sometimes.  Good luck with it.

I would let your friend mend her own work, fancy telling a child that, of course thry trust in us adults and believe what we say. In the meantime i would keep reasuring her that they aren't yukky otherwise you would not have put them all over her room. Goodluck

Best Wishes Blond.

Agree, just to add, can your friend sit down and watch the show with her maybe make a big deal about how great it is, undo the damage she has caused.  Good luck

couldn't have said it better myself, blond is right she shouldn't have said that to your daughter, all you can do is keep telling her that they are good to have around and that is why you put them there
good luck with it all and i hope you can once again get her back in her own room
take care, Nikki
