Maternity Clothes (ebay)

Hi all, I recently bought some maternity clothes off of ebay. It seemed to be a cheaper alternative for us. Anyway I paid for them on the 17th of april. I got a message today from the seller saying she doesn't want to send them because she didn't get as much as she wanted for them. She asked me for my account details so she could refund the money but I really need the clothes What should I do? Forget about them or stick to my guns and make her send them? I feel bad for her but not bad enough to forget them lol. I paid $40 for a few tops and pants.

If you paid via PayPal they have a free $1500 insurance (or something) which includes the dispute where you didn't receive the good and the good wasn't as described.

I would lodge a complaint. If that person didn't want to send them off in the first place s/he should have cancelled his/her ad!

yep - she cant do that - report her....go onto the ebay help section and look into disputes and lodge a dispute.  You are at her mercy anyway as she has your money and your clothes now.  Once you have either the money or the clothes then leave negative feedback (no emotion, just the facts of what happened).  It is a shame.  Ebay can be so dictated by commercial sellers or dud sellers sometimes and is not always what it's cracked up to be.  You could point out to her that she will be up for additional selling and relisting fees too if you want to stay more tactful or offer her an additional $5 if you want to keep her onside.  Hope the clothes are really worth it for you and they are good brands though to pursue.  I was often dissappointed with my ebay purchases.

Hi all, I have asked her if she would take an extra $20 but she wants at least $300 she said. There were only 10 pieces of clothes!!! I think I will just have to get my money back and try elsewhere coz I can't afford to miss out on both the clothes and the money. Thanks everyone.

definitely!!  I think you need to just cut your losses on this one....

i'm sure you can still report her for not selling hte items - or at least give her a bad feedback...

You could report her if you wanted, but as mentioned before, you could lose the money AND the clothes as a result.

Maybe you could talk to the seller and see how much more would be needed to get clothes....  she may only want another ten dollars or something.  I know it's more than what you bidded on, however, it would still end up being cheaper (and easier) than having to go and buy the clothes brand new (and possibly second hand).

Something to think about anyway....

Good Luck!!

Report her straight away and if you dont get a response keep emailing ebay everyday until they listen. I had an incident when i bid on a phone and won it but my car broke down and needed major repairs so i emailed the seller asking him to cancel the transaction and explained to him about my car i emailed him several times and got no response and he filed  a non-paying bidder alert against me saying i hadn't made contact with him and i wouldn't pay. I tried to explain it to Ebay but they said tough luck! I hope you have more luck than i did!!!

You could go through ebay dispute which can be a lengthy process but it still will not guarantee you of getting the clothes.  Don't feel bad for her that is the risk of selling on ebay I have had items on there that I probably should of got more for but its the luck of the draw sometimes.  If she is this kind of seller I would get my money back as she will probably not send them to you anyway.  As soon as you get your money back I would put in a complaint to ebay.

If I were you, I would be careful trying to make her send the clothes...you could be out the money and the clothes.  If you paid through pay pal, you have a bit more leverage.

I would see if she has been around ebay...check out her ratings, other buyers comments, and see if you think you can get the clothes.

If she didn't like the price, she should have put a higher minimum bid.  It is her loss not yours and she isn't trading fairly.

But, you have to do what you think is the right and safest thing for you to do.

Good luck,
Angela

stick to your guns and dispute if you have to if she wanted a certain price for them she should of put a starting price on them (which you can do)

Report her. If she didn't want to sell so low she a) should have put a higher starting bid price, b) a buy it now price or ended the auction early if she didn't like the way it was going. People like that give ebay a really bad name.

If it ends up going sour and you lose your $$$, leave negative feedback stating that she is a non-selling seller, and that they take money and don't send goods. Make sure it is very very detail, so as to be a warning to anyone else.

Also you can add her to your list (BLOCK) of people not to bid on or have bid on your items.

$300.00??? Is she for real...??? I don't know why people bother listing their stuff on ebay when they know that they are not guaranteed of what money they will get for what they are selling.

I hope you get everything sorted out soon.  It's a real shame when people like that give ebay a bad name.
