son refuses to go to bed

My 12 month old use to get put into his cot and went to sleep all on his own, but since he is starting to pull himself up, he does not like it when he is put into the cot for a sleep.

Nothing has changed in his room, or with his routine, i have notice that he is sleeping less through the day, fighting it most of the time, but he just will not just let me put him into the cot for a sleep.

I liked it better before he always went to sleep on his own straight away but since he is pulling himself up he will not go to sleep on his own in the cot.

I have tried leaving him there and not running into him, but it seems that he can stand there and cry for ever if i let him, i do not want to start any bad habits with his sleep time, and i can not stand to hear him cry, i am running out of ideas on how to handle this.

please if anyone has some idea or experience with the same thing i would love to hear them and thanks.

daughter and older men

hi, my daughter is 16 and she likes this guy who is 22, i feel that this is going to be a big mistake on her part if she was to get involved with him.

I have tried to talk with her about the whole thing and she says that i do not understand as i am not her and do not know how she feels.

I feel that if i keep pushing the issue, than i might loose her altogether, can you please give me some advice on how to handle this whole thing. thanks

We need some advice, not sure if i really want to start a nightlight thing as that is something else just to take away. SHe does not watch a lot of tv only Clifford the big red dog.. I need all the help and suggestions thanks in advance...

I feel like a horrible Mom, how do I play with my Kids?

I feel like a horrible Mom. I find it hard to sit down and play with my kids. I have two girls - a todder and a baby. I sing nursery rhymes, read books and tickle them, but apart from that I'm often stumped as to how I can play with them. I'm finding my patience very short and so sometimes instead of showing the toddler how to do something numerous times, I give up and walk away rather than get upset because I get annoyed - I feel HORRIBLE that I get this way!!!! I tend to let them play by themselves alot of the time and so I feel like I don't spend enough time playing with them, but I have no imagination when it comes to playing, and so I get bored very easily (and when I get bored I get a bit of a short fuse). My toddler is an explorer and often won't stay in one place for long, or play one game for long.

How many times during the day do you sit down and play with your kids? What things do you do? How "long" would these play sessions last? Any other advice or experience most appreciated.

Bronchiolitis

I think my baby who is 3 months old has Bronchioloitis. He has been really unsettled the last 3days and hardly sleeping. He is feeding fantastic during the day but gets fussy during the night but does take his bottle. If he refuses he always makes up for it in his next bottle.

He has had a cough for about a week, its a dry cough but the last couple of days i think he is coughing phlem up because swallows and coughs again with a disgusted face expression. Lastnight he had a rattle in his chest but it stopped. Now his asleep next to me and i can hear it again and his snoring?? Hi snver done this before.

So do you think im right about what it is?? He has also had diarrhea. I see the health nurse tomorrow and hopefully will be getting into see a doctor otherwise first thing Friday morning unless the health nurse says his goning to need medical treatment. All i know is there is nothing you can do about Bronchiolitis and its a viral infection on the lungs and you need to stay hydrated, and may need a nebuliser.

teething?

My bub is 9 months old and as yet has no teeth-which I'm not upset about as he is still breastfeeding-however, in the last few days he has started waking at night-usually he sleeps through from 6.30 pm to 6 or so am with a 10pm rollover feed but for some reason has been waking at 2am-not hungry, dirty, windy, too hot or too cold, just won't settle. He has always chewed everything so him chewing everything is not an indicator, however I have noticed he is drooling ALOT, has quite a hot forehead and very rosy cheeks-even more so than usual....do you think he might be teething? It's just that there is no sign of any teeth?

He's driving us a bit nuts as he is normally such a happy boy and he's been being whiney at night.....

Perthes' Disease

Hi all I am a newbie to this site. My son (6) was diagnosed with having Perthes' Disease 2 years ago. It is a disease in the ball and cup joint of the hip. I just wanted to know if any other members have been through this same disease and would like to share their experiences with me. I think we have been very lucky so far and had a mild form of it.

Hot Skin

Ok firstly I would like to say I have an appointment at the dr's to discuss this but it is on friday.

Whenever I get Damian up out of his cot, his skin is really really hot, feels like he has a fever so I pull out the thermometer and the temp is normal. He also looks like he is weak in the legs and doesn't want to walk, the whole time he is up if he isn't eating then all he wants to do is sit in my lap. On top of this I got a feeling he has bronchitis (due to the fact he has same symptoms as I do and I was Diagnosed with bronchitis on the weekend).

Has anyone else had a child that wakes up with hot skin but no temperature?? If so what could it be??

How can stop my son from sucking his thumb?

My 5 1/2 year old son sucks his thumb when he is tired & when he's asleep.

The dentist says he must stop before his adult teeth come in.

I know he needs to stop, but I am worried about traumatising him or making it into such an issue that it's worse.
