solids

just wondering if there is a common amount of solids that should be given to a 6 month old? she was a normal size bub but had to start early on solids because she was hungry alot and i know most people say not to give babies solids before 4 or 6 months but that's not the point here anyway what i want to know is weather or not there is a set amount that should be given.  I have found that the more she eats during the day the better she sleeps on most days she will have 3-4 bottles aswell as 3-5 meals such as breakfast etc and even snacks not to the point thats shes over feed but more to the point that it is sometime troubling that she wants to eat that much

I'M JUST CURIOUS

Solids

I've just been baby led - DD1 ate large quantities and DD2 is gradually building up her quantities. DD1 ate one banana with most meals from almost straight away (4 months) which I mixed with other purees. DD2 still isnt eating that much at 7 months! But then DD1 was a skinny thing on just milk and DD2 is a more normal size on milk!

If your DD is acting hungry, then I'd feed her til she seems full - she'll soon shut her mouth, or stick her toungue out, or dribble/spit it out, or cry, if she thinks she's full!

amount
Oh sorry you asked the amount, usually she eats the 4 oz container for breakfast, 1 or 2 of the 4 ounce containers for lunch, and 1 or 2 containers of the 4 ounce containers of baby food for dinner. Basically between formula and baby food she is getting about 32-35 ounces a day. about half of her food is baby food, the other half formula.

solids
This is what we do and it works great.
7am wake up 5 oz bottle
8:15-8:30 cereal and fruit
11am 5 oz bottle
12:15-12:30 meat or veggies
3pm 5 oz bottle
5:15-5:30 meat or veggies
7 5 oz bottle goes to sleep

This works b/c she has time to be hungry for her bottle and solids, and when we start getting rid of bottles, she is basically eating at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with her solids.
