sleeping bag all the way!

Harrison sleeps in a sleeping bag through winter and also summer.  He does have the freedom to kick his legs around and can even stand up in his crib while wearing it.  It is sleeveless and zips from top to bottom.  There are tons of sleeping bags around.  We have a grobag which is a bit on the pricey side.   I like the sleeveless ones because at least his arms can be used as a bit of a temp regulator.  Less on top when warmer and another layer if colder.

Good sleeping temp is 18-20C./64-68F.  We try to keep a heater in Harrison's room in winter.  We also have a smoke detector in his room.  I hate having to use it but we don't have central heating so we are stuck.

its a miracle!! target sells warm jumpsuits(with feet) for kids up to size seven. my son lives in them. he hates blankets. i also put socks and a singlet underneath too just to be sure he's warm enough.

If he is a kicker - the grow bag might just frustrate him, as he won't be able to move freely - though you should get one to try it out.  If it does frustrate him, he won't sleep so well, as he will wake if his legs can't move freely.

In that case, extra  warm pj's would be best and making sure his room is reasonably warm at night would also help.  See if you can get him a Kathmandu all in one outer fleecy suit or something similar to put over his pyjamas - they are so warm, & they wash & dry really quickly & easily.

I agree.  Grobags are the best invention as you don't have to use any sheets or blankets at all.  You can order grobags from bambini pronto.

As everyone else has said, warmer pjs are the best option. Mine doesn't like blankets either. She came into my bed last night and pushed the blanket down the end of the bed until we decided  i could use them and she could sleep on top.  She was in jumpsuits, you know the wondersuits? Until she was night-trained, she used them through winter.  Last year I made sure she was wearing a singlet that fully tucked in so it didn't pop up and expose her tummy, she had a t-shirt on over the singlet and a full tracksuit over the top.  She also has bed socks to keep her feet warm through winter.  I've heard of a lot of babies who won't use blankets so it's not uncommon.

my son is the same he wont keep them on when hes sleeping or when he is awake either.   what i did was get some flannelette pjs, slinnet and some heavy socks and i have put the heater in the room just before he goes to be so that the room isn't that cold,  and then just before i go to bed i do the same again,  and with the central brain sleep apnea and his monitor going off we tend to be in his room a lot through the night too.

with the pjs i found that the ones that you get from myers or djs are heavier than the ones that you get at kmart or target etc ,  you could also try a hot water bottle

hope that this helps good luck

I doesn't really sound like anything out of the usual behavior of babies. I mean, sometimes I can't sleep with a blanket, at night I just generate a lot of heat. I don't know why, but I've always been that way.

If you're concerned that your son might get too cold, a room heater may be something you could do. Just be very careful using one.

i've got the same problem with talea. i bought some of those larger size sleeping bags you knoe the ones with sleeves and a zip up the front. like a jumper with the botom like a sleeping bag. she wears her pj's and the sleeping bag to bed then when she kicks her blankets off it not so bad cause she has that extra layer there keeps her toasty.

my son is like this
we found the best thing was to dress  him in warm pajamas--that way it didn't matter if he had covers on or not.
