My son was obviously ready to walk at about 10 months old, but he didn't do it until he was properly motivated at 11 1/2 months. We were waiting at a doctor's office and he saw an old lady with a shiny red walker and he just went for it (10 feet for so away).
Your child will walk soon! Probably in the next couple of months. Good luck!
logan started to walk unaided at 8 and a 1/2 months but he is just wierd..... bug is just crusing now at 8 months.... if you wanna speed it up a bit get your son a playpen and link all the toys to the top so he has to get up to get to them... it does help get them up sooner... worked for my kidlets.... mind you he might just be happy and fast with getting what he wants whilst crawling.... my brother took ages to walk, but he was like lightining with crawling... :)'s dont worry too much he will do it when he needs to. :)'s4u
i remember being in your situation with my last child he crawled every where, he showed no signs of walking could never stand alone for a few seconds didn't pull himself up much he really didn't do much at all
Then when he was 15mths old no crap got up and just walked never fell just walked everywhere like he had been walking or mths. When i first saw it i thought i was seeing things, because he didn't show any signs of walking
So my son was 15mths old,now i wish he didn't lol.
My son is also 1yr, and only crawling and walking holding onto furniture.
I am getting sick of people asking why he isn't walking yet. I am just glad he isn't, as I can imagine him getting into loads more mischeif once he's walking.
As far as I'm concerned, they walk / crawl when they're confident enough and physically ready to.
Sorry if that sounds abrupt... I just had a weekend of relatives saying "why isn't he walking?... he should be walking!"... so over it!
I agree with all that say every child is different and it is a confidence thing, Amy was 13 months and my neice was 16 months and there is only 3 weeks age difference between them!
Give loads of encouragement and aid them as much as possible by supporting them on their feet and they will be up and running around before you know it, I know that the day Amy decided she was going to walk came as a complete surprise to me and I can still remember phoning everyone and telling them my baby was walking.
It will happen, just make sure you have the camera handy!
my first walked at 9 months of age, and my others walked at 10 and 11 months. but a friend of mines son did not walk till he was 14 months, every child is different
don't worry kids do it at all different ages my son walked at 11 months but my littles sis didn't wanlk till nearly 2 so it just depends on the child and when they feel confident enough to do it
Out of my 9 kidz, everyone of them crawled and walked at totally different ages, the latest age being 15 months. Jesse was late in walking due to the fact that he needed grommets in his ears, which helped with his balance. Don't try and worry too much, your little person will get up and go for gold in his own time and then you are going to wish he was only crawling!
I have heard of babies walking well before they turn 1 and some infact go straight to walking and bypass crawling. A friends boy only this week began walking and is 19mths. Don't worry about it, once they begin u will wish they didn't!!
