Re: can someone help me please
Have you thought that it may be SPD? (Symphisis Pubis Dysfunction).  I have had this in varying degrees with each of my four babies.  When the hormone relaxin is released into your system, it loosens the ligament in the hips; some people release just a little too much (for no obvious reason).  This means that they [hips] are slightly mobile (when they should be rigid and supportive).

In my case, the first pregnancy was the worst (this is not necessarily typical).  By twenty weeks I could not walk and the pain, although mainly at the bottom of my bump, where the hip bones are joined by ligament, spread up the sides of me and down my legs too. It was excrutiating.  A support bandage (a bit like a Girdle) helps as do crutches, but in the end, I had to use a wheelchair.

"Growing pains" also affected me in my fourth pregnancy...so for your second to be giving you pain is not unusual.  I would still get checked out if I were you, as you don't want to have missed something.

I have had similar pains throughout each of my pregnancies, my second and fourth being less sever than my first and third (strangely!)...I wish you luck.

Re: can someone help me please

Hi I hope this email finds you well.

Just like all the other advice that has been given, its a very good idea that you go to your GP and get it checked out.

The other thing you can do is have a massage. I am a Remedial Massage Therapist and my pregnant clients present with this problem quite frequently. Have a look at my website and information on pregnancy massage.

Have a look at this site http://www.naturaltherapypages.com.au/ This is where you can find a practioner in your area. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you.

Re: can someone help me please
it's probably ligament pain--very common around 20 weeks as this is a normal time for a growth spurt.  i had this pain much worse the second time around.  that said, if this is accompanied by bleeding, spotting, dizziness or blurred vision or anything out of the ordinary, i would call my GP asap.

Re: can someone help me please
you could always go check with another doc or the hospital ,, i have had it the three times that i had been pregnent , all i did was make sure the food was down before i went for any walk or stop and rest every time i felt it hurting ..and when i got home i put my feet up .. other than that it was just a natural part i went though being pregnent and never gave it too much thought ,, but go get a second oppion just to ease your mind

Re: can someone help me please
I had the same problem with my babies especially my first, and was told it was just my uterus stretching. If youre in any kind of pain I would still get a doctor to take a look just to be sure its nothing more serious.

Re: can someone help me please

if you went to the OB then maybe go to the GP and talk to them they might have a different idea about it,  if you have books that you are reading then check it out in that they are a great sorce of info or you could google it ...

hope that this helps  and good luck

Re: can someone help me please
hmmm  I hate to disagree with a professional, but  it all goes back (in some degree) and it all has to stretch again..... even 12 months after baby 1 things go back and have to stretch...may be not as much but ligaments in tummy and back do stretch and go back then when pregnant again have to stretch again.Maybe you need to change your doctor or at least get a second opinion.I am surprised he said this to you.How ODD try phoning a midwife and see what she has to say? Let us know the outcome regards Crystal

Re: can someone help me please

I agree,I also had pain like this and was told that it was just everything stretching. For me it was worse at night when I tried to roll over in bed , I would try not to move much as the pain was so bad.I had 4 pregnancies and still experienced this pain with my fourth ,every pregnancy is different. If your Dr did not seem to concerned about it ,I would not be too worried about it either. But if the pain continues and you are still concerned maybe then you should get a second opinion from another Dr.

I know with both my pregnancies I had pain like you described,I was told it was just everything stretching and my body complaining about it....I would see your doctor to be on the safe side though......Hugs Crystal
