I got an award too.  Sounds intersting and encouragind too.

I think it is to encourage you to keep on participating : )  If you go to the grey box on the left hand side, it has an option you can pick that shows you all of your activity totals... Comments, advice, votes etc. Congratulations on your first patch.

The awards are your little reward for your contributions and participation on Minti.

On your homepage in the left hand side panel.....There's various things..

Blogs...friends lists etc...and there will be one for Awards...click it and hover your pointer thing over each award ..it should give you a description of things to expect or how to achieve the next award.
