Change in babies sleep routine

My 6 month old use to go down at 6pm and wake at 6am for a milk feed then I would return him to sleep straight away and start our day when he woke around 8am. We went camping recently for a long weekend and when we got back he slept in longer in the morning - I think to catch up on some missed sleep. Since then he has been waking at 7-7:30Am. I have been giving him just milk like before and putting him down straight away. He goes to sleep straight away. Then wakes about 9:30-10am. Is this too late for brekky? Then his lunch is around 1:30-2:pm is this too late? The only thing I wonder is due to waking later his routine extends so that he has diner at 6pm & is down 7:30pm-8pm. Is this too late for a baby? Should I just give him solids when he wakes at 7am and then keep him up for 1.5 hours(normal wake time). My concern here is that if I give him solids he won't have as much milk as he would normally at 7am wake time 180mls? Hope this makes sense??

Re: Change in babies sleep routine
there is nothing wrong with your bubs sleep routine or non-routine depending on where you are it is most likely cause by climate change and/or weather conditions. I have this same thing happen to me about 4-5 times a year and sometimes it drives me nuts but i have learnt that theres not much you can do about it as they tend to sleep when they want

Re: Change in babies sleep routine

every baby is different and every baby has there own feeding patterns and sleeping patterns. I find that babies will let you know how much they want and when they want it LOL When a baby first starts solids they usually cut out a whole bottle as the don't need it anymore.

I wouldn't worry too much about the changes as I think it is perfectly normal

Re: Change in babies sleep routine
dont panic! babies change their routine for loads of reasons could be teething or needing more food, hence the eairler wake up... do his routine for a week and if it is due to catchup sleep like you said, or just the change in routine from the weekend's sleep patern, if it is it should correct itself. if not dont panic there is nothing wrong with having a baby awake at 8pm hehe thats early here, my 8 month old goes to bed some nights after 10 but she's a bit of a demand baby hehe... if he's hungry for breaky then feed him... the slight change in the amount of milk he has wont make that much of a difference... most babies are weened off one feed at that stage anyway... hope i made some scence and was a help :)'s2u

can you get him up when he wakes for his milk feed and give him breakfast instead? Then give him a milk feed a little later and put him back down for a sleep then?
