Re: helping labour
Iwent over time, i read somewhere that fresh pineapple helps simulate labour, but you need to eat allot of it not canned or juice though. i tried that, ate 1 whole pinneapple, not the skin though and went into labour the next morning, but who knows if the pineaaple helped or not. just do not try castar oil if any one suggests it, its very unsafe and dehydrates you as will give you diarrhoea.

Re: helping labour

An indian doctor once told me curry helps ,like in a beef curry or something, also frinds have said, green grapes and lots of sex.

I know when i went into labour with my last i was scrubbing the shower with ajax...the fast scrubbing that shook my belly must have done something and i was two weeks off my due date.

Re: helping labour
I am trained in natural medicine and the raspberry leaf tea is a great one! Also drinking som cod liver oil may work - but it tastes terrible so try the tea first - lol! Sex, yes as everyone has said this can help - along with walking, bumpy roads, moving furniture, etc. Did the doctor ripen (stretch) your cervix? Mine did this with number 1 when I was a day overdue & my waters started leaking that afternoon! Most people I know that have been given an induction date have gone into labour the night before! Good Luck with everything & keep us posted.

Re: helping labour
I tried all the standard things that they tell you and nothing worked. Then my midwife said raspberry leaf tea, it worked for me!! You need to speak to a midwife first to make sure it is okay for you, but I really recommend it. Good luck and I hope things are moving soon for you!

Re: helping labour
I would be with Deb & Channy on this one, get some loving, get some semen on their and if all else fails, at least you will have had a good time.  I found wishful thinking to be quite useful, however that is not documented anywhere professionally...  Don't worry, it will happen, and once it does, there is no turning back!

Re: helping labour
Why are they wanting to induce you? Is there an underlying medical issue?

Re: helping labour
Well, I was told walking, sex, nipple stimulation and there are herbs and oils you can use - certain forms of massage and even certain vitamins you can take.  Now, I am not an expert so maybe someone else can help here as I can't remember what herbs, oils etc....  However I can add that none of them worked for me, so if that baby isn't ready - then you can't force it!
