Re: show
The show is a mucous plug that prevents bacteria from entering the uterus and is situated in the cervix, the show a clear mucous plug often is pink stained when leaves the body as the cervix will bleed slightly when it comes away. this happens when the cervix befins to dilate, sometimes up to 2 weeks before labour, sometimes when labour commences.

Re: show

"show" is a bit of blood, a bit of mucous, maybe something like if you had a bloody nose and blew it.  It can be pinkish or brownish.  It doesn't mean it's your mucus plug.  that is more substantial and more mucousy, it will usually be a fair bit - more than just "spotting".  It's hard to tell the difference sometimes but either way you're getting close.  Closer if it's the plug.  You're probably more confused now, but very soon, the difference won't matter because you'll be having your baby!!

Re: show

Re: show
Not every one has a show and it is the mucus plug that sits in the opening of the cervix to keep it clean and healthy inside the womb.  As the cervix starts dilating, getting ready for the birth, this falls out.  Some of the descriptions have been very graphic but accurate!! Good luck with No 5!

Re: show

I remember when I was having my first at the ripe old age of 20 to the day,as I had him on my 20th birthday.I had no idea of the plug or show .I had gone into early labour and when i got to the hospital they asked me about the plug ,I didn't have a clue at what they were talking about but then I said was it like snot lol and they said yes. That's how I describe it .I never did get to experience my waters breaking as they always did it when I got to the hospital.

                                                   Good luck Cham

Re: show
Such a beautiful description - however it is reasonably accurate.  I had just a bit - one show, a couple of days before JJ came to meet us.  With the mucus plug, like pinkish, clear snot (or something else - you know the same thing that the ambiotic fluid smells like...).

Re: show
A show is when you lose the mucus plug from your cervix when you are in labour, or going into labour. Maybe you don't know about it because yours has always happened when you are in labour and not before
