Re: BREASTPUMP!

LIke everyone said, go for Medela. I have a Medela Pump N Style. It is an electric double pump and it is excellent. I got mine when I had my son 2 years ago so that I can go out for short periods of time.  This time around, I have twins and it has worked excellently. My twins spent a week and a half in the NICU, so I was pumping every 3 hours at home. Even with the frequent use, it's still up and running.

Good luck!

Re: BREASTPUMP!
I had a manual one made by them, it lasted 2 days...Then I had a different manual one, it lasted a couple more days...then my husband took the two of them and put them together and they were still for the birds...rent a medela hospital grade pump, they are fast, painless and just great all around

Re: BREASTPUMP!
Ring the company and demand a refund for BOTH pumps! They cannot refuse to let you return a faulty item! I use an Avent hand pump and it's absolutely fantastic. I am on my second bub and am still using the same pump with ease. I used an electric on at the hospital about a month ago when I had say surgery & had to discard some milk (because of the anisthetic) and I found that good too but I think it was a hospital only one.

Re: BREASTPUMP!

If it has stopped working then it is a faulty unit and as others have advised, I would be getting in contact with the distributor of the pump if you are not having any luck with the retailer. Here are the details for the distributor in australia

Product Line Distributed By:

if (self.trackIntlStoreLocator) { trackIntlStoreLocator(1, 'TFY', 'AU'); }

RC2 Australia
77 Ricketts Road
Mt. Waverly Victoria 3149 AU
Tel: 00-61-03-9550-3600
Email: service@rc2aust.com.au

I had a manual tommee tippee and had it replaced twice in 3 months. So while I wouldn't recommend the manual pump, I would recommend them for great customer service and replacement of product immediatley

Re: BREASTPUMP!
Oh gosh a no return policy doesnt sound legal.....I would be contacting a consumer affairs department.I certainly can personally recomend the NUK electric pump......I used it for the first months then gave it to a close friend who has now given it to her sister and it is still going strong. Good luck Hugs Crystal xx

Re: BREASTPUMP!
Definatley go the Medela pumps.
Try this site www.mothersdirect.com.au  all their pumps are endorsed by ABA so you know they are good. Might give you some ideas about what you can buy.
Even without a docket a faulty product must be replaced

Re: BREASTPUMP!
Medela electric breast pumps are supposed to be really good.  I used a $12 hand one from the chemist, not sure of the brand but it did the trick.  Apparently the Medela hand pumps are not much good, they're really rough but the electric ones are really good. It's what they use in hospitals too.
