Re: pool birth

I was also considering a water birth but unfortunately am going poublic and water birth is not an option, however I can use the bath during the labour which makes me feel somewhat better.

2 of my friends have had water births (one with her first child and one with her second child) and they told me that the difference was amazing, they just said that the pain was easier to control as the water made them more relaxed.

Good luck with it, and if you do end up having a water birth I would love to hear how you got on.

Re: pool birth
I have a good friend who had her 4th at home in a pool (she hired it from a place in Perth as she was in kalgoorlie W.A.   She was very much impressed by it.  Her daughter then 8 years old was also there to experience the birth and was fine with it, so either my friend holds it together very well (which is completely possible) or it was a fairly great birth pain wise.....good luck to you.  get a good mid wife who's done one before and find out where to get a pool.
