When to Give Panadol

My 6 month old in the last month has been waking up during the night screaming histerically. His cheeks are red & he dribbles alot. I can't see teeth yet but is this teething? Is it bad to give kids panadol & bonjella if I don't know for sure?

Re: When to Give Panadol

Ok firstly im sorry things maybe different in the uk but i looked into panadol at a large chain chemist were i was told that it was unsuitable for under 12 months and she refused to sell it to me....but she did recomend calpol there are two varietys one paracetamol alone the other a mix with iburofen, medised was also advised but this really knocks them out so only use at night and if you can get it ashton and parsons its a very old fashioned herbal remedy that is packaged in a tiny box not much bigger than a box of matches and its a powder folded into tthese papers but is fantastic if you can get it, and can be used fr tummy upsets too i found it at a moss chemist a large chain in the uk. Hope i havent offended anyone but i too got the panadol advice but ...so just a few other alternatives there.

Re: When to Give Panadol

sounds like teething to me. I have found that sometimes you just can't know for sure but after giving them panadol it usually settles them down if it dosn't then you know to have a doctor check him out. good luck I hope he feels better soon

Re: When to Give Panadol
he most certainly is giving off the symptoms of teething! I would give panadol every 4-6 hours along with a product by brauer called teething relief (paracetamol free).
These products will help for your little man to calm down a little and will help with the pain! try giving him teething rusks and cold face washers to chew on also !
Good Luck

Re: When to Give Panadol
hi hun, certainly sounds like he is teething teeth can take quite some time to come through. i would give him some panadol and bonjella it shouldnt do him any harm,  if you have any concerns talk to your pharmasist they are great, there are plenty of natural alternatives on the shelves as well.. good luck

Re: When to Give Panadol
yes those 2 together are fine ... as the bongela will numb the pain and the panadol will help the little man sleep and be more comfortable....

Re: When to Give Panadol

I give my kids panadol and bonjella if I think they may need it. I was told by a health professional that it will not hurt them to have either all the time.

My motto is "if unsure give panadol/bonjella" when it comes to my boys.
