GIVING UP THE BOTTLE

I have a 15 month old daughter who up until 2 days ago had a bottle before her nap and before bed, she decided that its nice to ask for it but not drink it and she is happy to go to bed with her "baby" instead!
This is a good thing i know but how do i make sure she gets enough calcium during the day? and im freaking out that she is going to bed hungry because she hasnt had the milk!! ( is this just be being un rational?)
help... please

Re: GIVING UP THE BOTTLE
At 15 months there is no value in a bottle unless its rotten teeth (yes milk rots teeth too!) so its fine. Make sure she has breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner. If she goes to bed late (9 or 10) a snack an hour before bed is good too. Just make sure you brush her teeth. Dairy foods like cheese, a GLASS of milk (straw or sippy is fine) and some yogurt is plenty for her RDI.

Good for getting rid of the bottle. Mine were off by 1 and drinking from a cup from 7 months. I think bottles should be thrown away at 12 months anyways.

Re: GIVING UP THE BOTTLE
This is completely normal. Just offer yoghurt, cheese and milk during the day - as the others have suggested. As long as she is getting 2 serves or the equivilent of 600ml of dairy a day she'll be fine!

Re: GIVING UP THE BOTTLE
We've got one at daycare at 10 months who refuses a bottle now.  She has all her milk feeds in a sipper cup.  They are still made up in the bottle for correct measurements, but given in a sipper cup or she won't drink it.  She's 12 months old now and hasn't had a bottle for 2 months.  Have you tried that?

Re: GIVING UP THE BOTTLE

She obviously showing signs that she's growing up.......I know you don't really want to hear that.......lol.....Offer her cheese, yoghurt and milk during the day. If she was hungry at that time of night you would most certainly know it......if she goes down happy and is settled through the night than you can be sure she is not hungry.........you are doing a great job Lisa........it's so sad when they start to grow up and change their routines or habits...........

Re: GIVING UP THE BOTTLE
i think its great that she doesnt want her bottle no more, you defiently got a little independent girl there- watch out the world haha...

So anyway giving her milk in a cup at break fast time is a idea. and offering her yoghurts, cheese will be good for her dietary consumption....

If you are really concerned take her to your doctor and he/she will be able to advise you a  bit more....

Good luck with this huge milestone for u all...
