Re: first visit to the dentist

After Mac was born i needed quiet a bit of work done that they could'nt do whilst i was pregnant, knowing the state me teeth have got in i don't want Mac to be affraid and want him visiting regularly asap i asked my dentist no problem from 2 months he came along it's just so he can get used to the atmosphere and feel relaxed just as he  does when we visit freinds and family, he looks around at all the lights he does'nt sit in while im having work done, my dad sits in waiting room with him, but he knows the dentist now he gets a cuddle and 5 min play time we hope this will prevent the stress kids feel when its there turn...

Re: first visit to the dentist

Hi there , I wouldn't say a thing if he not worried about going .The dentist are good with kids they show them how thing work  and that it want hurt them its just the nosies that s  loud .Usally they only check there teeth on the frist visist and if they need work done on there they made appointment to come back .

That way to the kids aren't scared the frist time around.good luck  and hope thats all goes well.

prehaps you know if charlie will sit  still or not. There is no way in the world my gals would be able to do it. Annaliese would cry and katherine would just refuse. But if you can charlie  to do it its great and would do it. Most people say they need to go about 5yo but there isnt any rules. Good luck and cahrlie is a big boy now lol how cute.Good luck and big Hugz Tee

Re: first visit to the dentist
The most important thing is for you to stay calm and Charlie will be calm. I didn't take mine til they were at preschool. I didn't feel the need. In Qld they come under the Qld Health School Dentist and you get all your dental for free. Unless there are specific problems with their teeth I don't see the need. Leisa

Re: first visit to the dentist
I've been told to take them at 12 months.  However the only places here that will look at kids that age want to charge a fortune for it so Hannah hasn't been.  She can go free of charge to the clinic one when she's 4.  I'm not at all concerned about her teeth as she lets me give them a good brush twice a day but I want to get her used to dentists.  I think it's a great idea taking them young and hopefully it all goes well for you so Charlie will build a trust in dentists and know that they are good.  Let us know how he goes and how the dentist handled things with him.
