Hi, I cant see the middle of the wound there, but is the area hot, or has its pain increased, because it looks like it has a darker red circling it which sometimes is the first sign a wound is infected. But a great thing for dry irritated skin is derm eze, qv cream, or vaseline is a cheaper alternate, and then cover with a dressing called melonin or there are cheaper versions of this. a great tape called mefix will stick over around the edges which will help prevent rubbing when he moves.  a large bandaid over the vaseline is also good. but hard to find the size you would probably need. good luck.

Put on that band-aid cream that you can get at the shops.

Re: Does anyone know what i can put on this?

Try slathering the area with paw paw ointment. It helps the dry cracked skin heal and leaves a protective barrier on the skin. It is great on cracked lips, nappy rash, weepy sores, bites etc. It will help to soothe the dryness and itchiness as well as moisturise the affected areas.

I'd put it on 3 or 4 times a day.

Hope that helps!

I hope this helps - my hubby has bad skin that weeps etc and what he has gotten onto is DERI - SAL, its a cattle ointment to heal cracks sores and open wounds on milking cows udders, really wierd but works on all excema on him. You can get it at feed merchants/ produce stores about $35 a tub which is 500gms. Has really stopped the itch even in his hair. Otherwise a Pinetarsol bath to cut the itch and olive oil to moisturise it.

Ouch...must be sore. I'd use Paraderm Plus, which is an antiseptic cream that also numbs a bit. Or if you want to go herbal, get calendula cream from health store or chemist. Both are really great for this sort of thing. You can use both these creams on other things like mozzie bites, cuts and grazes too so they won't be wasted.

Hi,  poor little fella .I am not sure that it would ease the pain if that is what you mean, but maybe you could put some EDP powder on it ,it is great for things that are weepy helps to dry it up much faster.Maybe some padadol or nurofen for the pain.Good luck, I hope he starts to feel better soon .
