Re: If you could only...
I place great importance on teaching respect.  If you lack respect, you may as well have no other good points because a lack of respect overshadows all other qualities.

Re: If you could only...

for me it would be values/morals as that is my main aim, that they grow up with the correct values/morals and then everything would fall into place.

Good question though..

Re: If you could only...

This is a great question, really got me thinking of things i hadnt thought about before.

I will try my best to teach my children to be loving, tolerant, strong and compassionate. I will teach them to empower themselves with knowledge and tell them to never loose hope on their dreams. I want them to know i love them unconditionally and will be a support to them when ever they need me. I know the question asked for 'one thing' but there is too many! If i had to choose one, it would be to love themselves.

To treat people how he expects to be treating, and not to judge people if they have faults, as we all do and are not perfect.

Re: If you could only...

i would teach my son, that I love him no matter what! that through life there are going to be hard times and good times will be naughty and good  but my love will never end and that Im proud of him even when he makes mistakes!

also... that dont give up on people and have faith in others for them to go far,( a person beleiving in you and having faith that you will go far does wonders!)

Only one thing.. That is hard.

I guess I would have to say I'd like to teach them not to be materialistic.

Re: If you could only...

that is a great question.. i would love the teach my children the value of living life to the fullest providing that you don't hurt your self or others in the process.

i think it is vital to enjoy your self and to be happy ( truely happy with your self and your situation), healthy( mentally, physically and emotionally) and honest (exspecially with ones self and to everyone one around you).

i want so much for my children to take each possible oppertunity to grow and experience, yes even some of those negitive ones so they can become stronger and wiser and learn to make better choices for themselves without dependancy on others or substances.

I like this too...  Jaydee and I have a little motto:

If it feels good, and it isn't hurting anyone - then do it!

Re: If you could only...
Selfless is a little more than being unselfish.  To be selfless is to put the wants and needs of others before your own... The reward in this is that to help is reward itself, however if you believe in karma - it could be ultimately more rewarding when others put your needs ahead of their own also.
