I Agree with everyone else, go and buy those safety plugs, as they are worth the money, and you can buy them at  bargain stores sometimes as well...

Re: Is taping up power points safe??
Scary things can happen with our kids can't they.  Personally I always had those plastic things that go in powerpoints, I also covered as many powerpoints as possible with furniture, and I use those powerboards that have safety switches on them.  I also have a main safety switch.  Paranoid? Maybe.  My mum and her brother (my uncle) were playing with power points when they were little, my uncle was around 7 and my mum's 3 years younger.  My uncle stuck a fork in the power point and to this day he has scars down his front and no hair grows on his chest where the scars are from being electrocuted.  Like Oz Binky, none of us to this day can figure out why he didn't die, or even require a long hospital stay! He stayed in overnight, they said he was fine, but boy have we had it drummed into us that you can NEVER take too many precautions when it comes to electricity.  I wouldn't tape up the power points, those plugs are not expensive.  The plugs are removable, I was renting when I used them, still do.

Re: Is taping up power points safe??
Personally I wouldn't do it. Like it has been said already, it's a fire hazard and is too easy to pull off. My son, who is now 18, got to a socket that was not protected correctly and put two keys in it.

I didn't have a clue what blew my power that day - that was until I walked into the room Luke was in and there was smoke everywhere - and a 5 year old sitting away from it saying, 'it wasn't me'

Luke had fused the keys together. I have no clue what saved that boy but I still have the keys today and as a reminder of what can happen.

Its just much better to buy the plastic clips that go into the socket.....

Cheers
OB

No way!! The tape comes off way too easy and he then really get hurt. The best thing is th buy a box of the those plastic plugs. They are cheap and you can find them everywhere!!
Good luck

No if difficult to come off small particals may get stuck especially if your bub tries to put a plug in it, tape may go in it so I would say no buy proper plugs for unused plugs and just be persistant when he plays with the switches.

Er, no. I would not even trust electrical tape. The best things are those plastic plugs you insert into the socket.
