The Best Bug Repellent?

My family and I are vacationing this summer where the bugs really bite. Does anyone have any tried and true methods or products you would reccommend for repelling mosquitos?

Do you have access to lemon grass? If you're looking for a natural alternative, lemon grass contains natural citronella. You can put this around your house or outside when you're having a bbq or something. You can also use lemon grass and apply it on your body as a natural repellent.

Re: The Best Bug Repellent?
I have heard that if you take vitamin B daily for a couple of weeks you wont get bitten by Mozzies, they don't like Vitamin B.  We use a repelent called Repell.  You can get it in the supermarket and it is one of the less expensive ones but works very well, it comes in a pump spray and a roll on.  A funny story is that I had once tried to make myself smell nice for my Hubby prior to us being married, by wearing some of my saved for special occassions $200.00 perfume, he didn't even acknowledg it, the next day I ws wearing repell and he told me how nice I smelt LMAO .  So not only might you repell the bugs, but you might attract your hubby hahahahaha.

Re: The Best Bug Repellent?
mosquitos find you by  your Co2 trail, as you breath out  you leave trail of Co2. if  you hide or stop your Co2 trail. bingo no more mozzies.

I have heard that tea tree oil also works, but fires put out large amounts of Co2 and hide your trail.

hope this helps

Re: The Best Bug Repellent?
i have heard that if you eat bananas in mozzie season or where there are mozzies, that you will be more likely to attract them. I am not sure of how that theor came up but its happened to my uncle a few times.
I think RID would be your best repellant.....also burn citronella candles or citronella oil .... Mozzies dont like it! You could probably even rub it on yourself to keep them off you!

Hope this helps you a bit!

Cheers.
