So we have gone 6 days diaper free except at night and now I need to know what is next. Tomorrow we are going to Nana's house and I cant bring the potty with me where ever I go. Do I put I diaper on him while we are out or what has worked for you all. Thank you in advance for your replies.
The advice you have been given is great! No, don't put a nappy back on him - it may send him backwards. If you are worried use pullups & take a portable toilet seat as you said.
Thanks for the advice. I have pull ups for him and a little thing you put on the towlet so I will bring that. We are just gonna be out for the evening so it wont be to long.
I would be hesitant at putting a nappy back on him incase he ends up going backwards. It would be terrible to have accomplished so much for it to all go down the toilet (or nappy!!) Why cant you bring the potty? Im sure people would understand u having to lug it around. I know its not ideal. I was basically house bound for 2 weeks while I trained Jenaya. As they say...once u begin u cant stop! Goodluck
I he telloing you when he wants the potty or are you reminding him? if it's you instigating it I personally would probably use pull ups or some such as you are likely to get distracted chatting with your mum etc and forget to remind him as often as you might at home one on one. If he's telling you, I'd pull ups for any travelling A(in the car if it's over an hour's drive away for example and take it off when you get there & pop jocks back on him then in Grandma's loo so he learns where it is and to use it instead of potty (if you're not taking it) you can get padded loo seat incerts in Aust (made in china so you probably have them where you are too, which can fit in an extra large zip lock bag and a large MUms always have them hand bag, for public loo use.) which my 18 month old has successfully used twice this week woo-hoo. if you're out and about shopping etc pull ups are probably a good idea as you may not always be able to find a loo, how ever if he does tell you he needs to go I'd advise you to encourage him to pee on tree (if no toilet around) rather than use the pull up as you don't want to encourage him to go backwards at this stage
No,don't put a nappy on him if you go out.Buy a travel potty.Otherwise they don't really understand, put a nappy on him,the next time you don't then you will get into trouble.See my advice,Toilet Training.
